For Cyrus:

I would play it more as a Tempo sort of thing.

Try as often as possible to leave open 4 mana on turns 3 or 4 to (ideally) plasm capture, Griptide, or Rift. Then start pulling away with tempo and card advantage on turn 5 with prophet or urban evolution.  Play off of the timing of things, more I guess would be my suggestion.
