MTGO redemption costs calculations.

Cost of all cards when buying singles: $206.96

MTGO redemption costs: $5 per set + $30 international delivery.

Then there's customs: $50 (stated value) * 20% vat (most likely, nobody knows what customs will do).
Then $10 fedex admin fee on top of customs fees (that's what I got charged last time buying unopened MTG decks)

Total about $55 for UK delivery.

27% of purchase costs just to get it delivered.Plus more money lost on buying last few cards, which might be unusually expensive if they're crap mythics people need for redemption program.

Plus obviously cost of cards. And probably VAT on digital cards.

And I might lose it all if I exceed Redemption Guarantee Date of 31 October 2011, and will definitely lose it all if I miss cutoff of 11 May 2012.

Pretty much the only good way to redeem is to have a friend in States send it to me. Is this at least allowed?

Of course not! "Please note that your shipping address MUST be in the same country as your billing address or your redemption order will not be shipped."

So fuck MTGO for having people who live outside U.S.
