Murderous Cut vs Disfigure?
Null Rod?
Umezawa's Jitte

Chill/Feed the Clan for Burn?

+2 Hymn to Tourach in board to further shred tempo decks/other card advantage decks.

2 Wasteland vs 2 Basics?  2nd Tar Pit?
-1 Dig Through Time, Delve feels clunky, cuts off resources from Tarmogoyf and Deathrite Shaman while not being necessary to advance the deck's position at all.

21 Lands/4 Ancestral Vision vs 22 Lands/3 Ancestral Vision

Arcane Laboratory is very strong vs OmniTell and Storm, but I feel as though an Ooze might be even more beneficial.  The deck seems to have enough tools to handle combo efficiently.  Flusterstorm is strong against combo decks as well as Burn to a smaller extent.  Spell Pierce vs Burn at worst.

Surgical is very strong, even on the draw and presents a powerful threat to RUG Delver on their lands alongside a Wasteland.

3/1 Force of Will, 3/0 Thoughtseize?

-2 Wasteland +1 Island +1 Forest
Wasteland makes the deck have considerably more trouble with mana when playing Strix and Hymn while also not really contributing anything terribly useful.  If the deck is going to lock out the opponent, it's not going to be through mana denial and an early Wasteland to try and slow up our opponent doesn't really do much since it puts us back on stabilizing as much as it puts them back.  We're not a tempo deck.  We don't need Wasteland.  Secondly, opening the slots up for basics allows the deck to dodge Blood Moon and be considerably stronger against RUG/BUG Delver decks that like to keep Wasteland heavy hands vs us.  All things considered, I like the deck a lot more without Wasteland, as all it really did was hurt our game plan while not providing any particular advantage that the deck wants.

21 lands?  +1 Clique main?

Arcane Laboratory and Mindbreak Trap are both strong options vs Storm and Omnitell, though I feel Trap is better suited to other applications.

"I would prefer to not play Wasteland, but it's the best out to something like Maze of Ith, Creeping Tar Pit, and Grove of the Burnwillows. It's rare that I use my Wasteland aggressively, as your land in play is generally more important to you than theirs is for them. I basically use it to kill utility lands and that's it.

Some say that basic lands fight cards like Wasteland, Back to Basics, and Blood Moon, but that's not entirely true. If you have a two-lander against RUG Delver, you fetch a basic and a dual, and they Wasteland you, you are more mana screwed than if you had simply fetched two duals. If you fetched two basics, you'd be mana screwed even in the face of a Wasteland.

Against Blood Moon and Back to Basics, the same principle applies, as you don't have nearly enough basics to fight those cards. A reconfiguration of the deck could be used to fight those cards, but if you plan on playing Hymn to Tourach (and you should), then it's nearly impossible." - GERRY THOMPSON

Keep to 22 lands, -1 Tar Pit

Toxic Deluge/Clique main?  Ponder?  Pulse?
Tombstalker?  -1 Strix?  Clique?
Tasigur?

1x Toxic Deluge main?
