The fastest way to load many cards with specific details is to import them from a CSV text file.  The fields used in the CSV are listed here:

CSV Field Names wrote:

Count,Tradelist Count,Name,Foil,Textless,Promo,Signed,Edition,Condition,Language

I already have my inventory in the system, so I've not done a lot of importing, but this should work.

I texted him, and he replied the same day.

I've been playing my Modern version of Krenko's Dance Party at Saturday magic for a few months now.  It has a modest win record, but most of my opponents have added answers to help them survive (e.g., a lot more spot removal and direct damage).  Since I picked up Wort, Boggart Auntie for my EDH deck, I thought I might change things up by transforming my red Goblin aggro deck into a red-black Goblin aggro deck where I may use my graveyard to my advantage.   The deck, Krenko and his Auntie is almost ready.  I'm just having trouble slimming down any further.

I'd appreciate your input on any ways to improve the deck, as well as ideas on how to best trim down the size to get it closer to 60 cards.

Thanks!

What's your strategy with this one--massive numbers and overrun the enemy? I see massive ramp, but not the massive creatures that typically accompany it.  If not including the big, bad, baddies, I'd at least consider Giant Growth, Mutagenic Growth, and/or Titanic Growth.

And of course, what green deck is complete without Fog?

I think you'll find that Gisela is too slow for most competitive events.  That's likely why most people hate on her.

Overall, I believe you have potential here.  Champion of the Parish is still very popular with RW human decks.  In order to maximize on its triggered ability, consider replacing Lingering Souls with Gather the Townsfolk. Of course, if running tokens, you really want Intangible Virtue to give them a buff and vigilance.

Because the pace of the game is so fast at my LGS (we have a number of high-ranked players in our State who love to pull {when things go right} T3 and T4 wins), I switched from RW humans to mono-red aggro with goblins.  It's not nabbed me high rankings at most FNM events, but is has kept me from finishing at the bottom of the barrel.

If you believe it is likely that you will get seven mana for Gisela, you should at least ponder whether or not Akroma's Memorial might be a better way to spend that mana.

Best of luck! Let us know what you end up with, and how it works out.

Interesting. The rules text we got from gatherer, back when we initially imported the db, in 2008. I did not know they change card rules text over time.... I thought changes are made in the rulings section only.

Does this happen for many cards?

I know it happens from time to time.  Goblin King is one example.  It was originally defined as "Creature - Lord" and was later redefined as "Creature - Goblin".  The original rules text read:

Old Rules Text wrote:

All Goblins get +1/+1 and have mountainwalk. (They're unblockable as long as defending player controls a Mountain.)

Because they reclassified the card, they modified the rules to read:

Current Rules Text wrote:

Other Goblin creatures get +1/+1 and have mountainwalk. (They're unblockable as long as defending player controls a Mountain.)

The change was made so Goblin King's bonus would not apply to itself.  It was made prior to 2008, however, so Deckbox has the current rules text.

Refreshing the data you imported periodically (annually?) might be a good idea.

Thanks for the feedback, folks.

Sadly, I don't have a Goblin Piledriver.  I agree on the implausibility of infect.  My thoughts were that it can be a boon when blocking a buffed attacker (any bonus on toughness), since the -1/-1 will endure past end-of-turn buff fades.  Still probably not the best.

I'll look into those other cards.  I can't find "Goblin Shaman" in the card database. Did you mean to recommend Lightning Crafter?

Valakut was a carry-over from my original all-red EDH deck.  I agree that it is not very valuable now.

I have been considering artifacts, though I've never used them much.  I have Lightning Greaves, and I will soon have a Basilisk Collar to go with the Goblin Sharpshooter I just picked up.

I appreciate the tips!

Prices show up as $0.00 for Heroes' Reunion, even though there is pricing information on that card at TCGPlayer (click the card, then select 'all versions').

Well, after getting a suggestion in the EDH Thursday thread, I decided to pull together a BR Goblin deck with Wort, Boggart Auntie as the commander.  I'd appreciate your opinions and feedback.

Wort's Extended Family

Aside from Wort's ability to return goblin cards from my graveyard to my hand, I've included lots of other fun goblins that add synergy to the deck.  There's Goblin Lackey, Goblin Recruiter, and Goblin Ringleader. And since I'm hoping to retreive Goblins from my graveyard, I might as well have one that benefits from all that death: Knucklebone Witch.

In addition to loads of Wort's kith and kin, I'm running about 10% each enchantments, sorcery, and instants, plus one Planeswalker, Chandra Nalaar.

Playtesting has been a blast--it's a fun deck.  One fun trick was to cast Earwig Squad for its Prowl cost, remove three cards from an opponent's library, and then sack it with Warren Weirding. The next turn, I'd bring it back using Wort's  ability (see Wort, Boggart Auntie) and would cast it again to remove three more.

It will get even more fun when my Goblin Sharpshooter arrives, especially when I am able to pair it with a Basilisk Collar.

Even among black-bordered cards, the oldest versions, being rarer than recent releases, typically demand a higher price. Most players do not want white-bordered cards because they prefer the originals, want only black-bordered cards in their decks, or both.  That means there is less demand for them, and that's why they command lower prices on the resale market.

The entire Chronicles release consisted of reprints of the preceding editions, so (per their policy at the time) WoTC released them as white-bordered cards.

There are likely numerous reasons why you are having trouble finding online locations with white-borded art, or specific references to Chronicles.  First, many places just standardize on images black-borded versions of a card (based on whatever API they are using with whatever site they partner with).  That's the case at TCGplayer when you select the Chronicles icon (see the next point). They show a black-bordered card to show the image.  The original and the Chronicles editions have the same artwork, other than the border.

Another reason is that there is no set-specific symbol for Chronicles--each card appeared with its original set symbol. The one used at TCGPlayer.com was never printed on any card--it is just there to help designate the edition.

Thus, if looking at Erhnam Djin, you'll see that if you compare the Chronicles version (the reprint) to the original version (Arabian Knights), you'll notice the symbols printed on the cards are the same but the Chronicles version is worth only $0.30 while the Arabian Knights version is worth over $19.00.

Nicol Bolas was reprinted in Chronicles.  The original printing was Legends (note the same set symbol).

If you want a little more history on the borders, you may check out this link: http://www.wizards.com/Magic/Magazine/A … aily/af159.

I hope this helps.

EDIT: Fixed spelling, clarified text.

Hey there! Pretty new around here, but I'm loving it. One thing I'd like to request is the ability to sort by Inventory Count, as well as this following suggestion quote:

psyllogism wrote:

* Collapse cards of the same name together, giving an option to expand them into multiple rows for different kinds of the card

The reason for this is that I will trade out any copies in excess of six that I have of a given card. It's really hard to find when I have more than six with the current system.

Thanks!

Numerous folks have noted that we lost the ability to sort by count.  I believe Sebi will be bringing that back to us in the near future.  :-)

Indestructible makes the creature immune to "destory" effects and lethal combat damage. Even Indestructible creatures like Falkenrath Aristocrat, Stuffy Doll, and Predator Ooze, however, can accumulate -1/-1 counters.  Any time a creature's toughness is reduced to zero, that creature goes to the graveyard, so when Falkenrath Aristocrat accumulates 13 -1/-1 counters, that's where it goes.

Here's a page that provides a bit more detail.

EDIT: word choice

Laura, decks larger than 70 (or even 100!) cards are legal for sanctioned MTG play.  When you guys get around to tweaking those screens, that logic should be updated, too.

I just noticed some discrepancies, too, but only off by a few cents.  Those Jace numbers are a bit of a mystery.

Definitely Mizzium Mortars.  Overloaded, it is a massive blow to most opponents.

I didn't catch whether you are committed to playing any particular format (e.g., Standard, Modern).

If playing Modern or just casual games, pick up Leyline of Punishment.  He won't like it at all:

  • If Leyline of Punishment is in your opening hand, you may begin the game with it on the battlefield.

  • Players can't gain life.

  • Damage can't be prevented.

I do realize it could be Murdered, but so far the deck has done alright as I don't need Stuffy Doll to win (though it is much more fun for me that way winkGiant Growth would save me from Murder, so long as it is not cast after Morbid would come into effect.

Actually, Giant Growth and that Inquisitor's Flail make for a good pair-- +3 and then double it.

Perhaps I need a new deck with my Predator Oozes, Inquisitor's Flails, and Rancors. Since Deathtouch only requires one (1) to deal lethal damage, Nightshade Peddler sounds good--but that takes me back to my old Fight Club deck (based of Justin Plocher's Fight Club deck as seen on YouTube--he's from my LGS!).

If you are compensated fairly for cards that did not arrive, you may not leave negative feedback.

If the carrier lost the cards, it really isn't the sender's fault, but per the terms of this site, each sender is responsible for the delivery of his or her cards.  It sounds like the two of you have been in regular communication, and that there was no difficulty reaching an agreement on the payment--sounds like a good and honorable trading partner to me.

I have one trade still open that has my partner waiting for cards.  I was shipping to California.  The DCN let both of us see that it left the St. Paul regional post office on January 3, but then everything went silent.  We agreed to wait until the 15th before I would reship or refund.

Just this morning, the status received an update: the package arrived at another regional post office--in Boston!

I have no idea why it ended up going east rather than west, but that's the USPS for you.  I'm just glad it is back in the system and that it is (hopefully) back on its way to California.

Then be sure to let us know how it plays!

How attached are you to having 100% fliers? Concordia Pegasus doesn't bring anything special to the battlefield.  Swap in Azorius Arresters and you may detain an opponent's creature when it hits the battlefield.

In addition, I always like to have something to play on T1.  You don't have any one-drop creatures, and there are some good ones out there. Perhaps the best out there right now in white is Trained Caracal (1/1, Lifelink).  You have four in inventory.

Cathedral Sanctifier and Warclamp Mastiff are two other possible one drops, and they each do more than Concordia Pegasus.

Another thing to ask yourself is whether you are committed to mono-white.  Splash a little blue and Fog Bank is a great flying defender.  My blue-white deck uses Fog Bank and works to bring out Sublime Archangel. I realize you don't have multiple Sublime Archangels right now--she's a very expensive lady. The link to my deck is just to give some ideas how you could work with two colors.

Apart from those thoughts, I think there is much potential in your deck.

I'll take a look.  Just an FYI--if you include a link to the deck you want reviewed, you'll likely have more people take a look.  Some of us (myself included) don't remember what abilities each card has, and need to look at the rules text.

We currently have a "Mark as Read" link at the bottom of a page of forum topics.  Would it be possible to get the same functionality somewhere near the top of the page?

It might be interesting if you could take a snapshot of the current prices when completing a trade.

An option to show wether prices have been going up or down lately would be a great tool for some I know..

I can't speak for Sebi, but being someone who knows about databases and web interfaces, I know that these two would significantly increase the amount of storage required by the database (and potentially affect site performance).  It would mean recording prices for every trade, and, really, for every card (to get that price trend information).

That doesn't mean it won't be considered.  I just know that it would be a major change.

This had been fixed in the previous version, as I've entered many of those cards in the past year.  It has been reported as a bug in the new (2.0) system.  Sebi is currently on holiday (after the release over the holidays most of us were observing), and will be back to reviewing things soon.

In play testing, Inquisitor's Flail also made a great pairing with Predator Ooze.

I had a pretty good win record last night (around 75% of all matches against a variety of decks).  My eldest son runs a deck that typically gives me grief (Champion of Lambholt, Champion of the Parish, and a lot of token generation).  Last night wasn't his night, however, with Burn at the Stake in my hand.  I got it out for a cost of 1R on two occasions.

guess the reason I chose bone splinters over murder is to synergize with Falkenrath Noble.  Maybe I’m misunderstanding how it works.  If a creature dies, the target loses 1 life and I gain 1 life.  If I use bone splinters and sacrifice a creature, and destroy a creature does that count at -2 for him and +2 for me?

Or am I completely off base in assuming that destroying a creature via a spell or instant counts towards the ability of Falkenrath Noble.  Noob question I know.

No. I completely missed that mechanic in your deck.  It looks reasonable to me.  In that case, which vampires do you anticipate sacrificing?
