Castigate might be something to consider if you're in BW.

I would say that they look like great fun in a casual setting.  They are going to play a bit differently each time you sit down.  I like that neither deck is short of mana and they do different things.  If you are planning to take them to FNM (Friday Night Magic) I would say you need to focus them more.  Kenvin's deck would probably have a more madness theme .  Romonans deck I'd probably just pick the best of the +1 counter creatures and make them a 4 of in the deck and maybe some more counterspells and card draws.

Welcome to magic.  Having fun is the most important part.

I would like to know what the main theme of the deck is.  I see some energy elements and some +1 counter elements, but it doesn't appear there is enough of either to really work consistently.

Also you are going to need more lands to support your high casting cost spells. I would start with 24 and adjust from there.

I would suggest searching some decks that use cards you already have and see what they are doing.  Here are a couple examples.

Good luck and have fun.

I've really enjoyed Gonti, Lord of Luxury in a different deck I've been playing.  So I thought I'd try something tribal with them.  I saw some mono black builds, but really wanted to be able to swap into a more controlling build from the sideboard.

The idea is to make servo's with Servo Schematic sac them and Servo Schematic to Syndicate Trafficker making +1 counters and more servos with Animation Module.

Any and all thoughts welcomed.

I'm kind of getting back into standard and wanted to try a deck that was more controling.  I really like using Eldrazi Displacer and ETB triggers.  I've not really built control before and would be open to advice.

I'd start off with 2 Vandalblast in the SB.  You can adjust from there depending on your meta.

It depends on your local meta of course, but I'd add some way to deal with artifacts.  Vandalblast would be my recommendation for the sideboard.

Some additional information is needed to help you.  So let me ask a few questions.

1. What format are building for?  Standard, Casual...etc

2. What kind of deck do you like?  Aggro, Control, Mid-Range etc.

3. Is there a particular card or couple of cards that you like they way they work or work together?

4. Do you only want to build from your inventory, or do you want suggestions for cards you don't own?

That should give someone a place to start with helping guide you to your deck.

I have dropped the Red and got some advice on the sideboard.

Now I am looking for some advice on Cloudshift, vs Chord of Calling, vs some other card.  And what numbers.

I like Cloudshift as it lets me dodge removal and trigger my allies at instant speed.

Chord of Calling is nice for pulling the right ally at the right time, but I find the casting cost prohibitive.

I'm sure there are other options out there that be a good tutor/utility card for the main deck, I'm not thinking of.

Any and all thoughts welcome.

Thanks!

I'm looking for suggestions on sideboard tech and any minor tweaks to the main board.  I'm not overly familiar with modern so building the  sideboard has been challenging.

The idea is to create +1 counter on allies and trigger that with other allies.  Hardened scales doubles the counters and Collected Company lets you build board presence or recover from a wipe.

Fairly simple and straight forward.

Thanks for taking the time to look it over.

So I thought about your question.  The match up I really want to shore up is Rally.  So I was thinking I would main board 2 Hallowed Moonlight.  It will never be a completely dead card in hand because you can draw a card.

Thanks for all the suggestions of ETB creatures.  I hadn't thought of a few of them.

Still working on the sideboard.  It's fairly setup for the ramp and rally decks right now.  Not sure how well setup, but done to the best of my abilities.
Any suggestions on sideboard would be appreciated.

A deck I'm trying to fine tune a bit.  The idea is to have ETB effects that you activate with Eldrazi Displacer. The support spells are basically removal.  The trouble spot is that I have two spots in the deck that are currently held by Bearer of Silence.  I'm unsure what to put in there as I feel I need more early game presence, but have really not liked the various options I've tried.

The sideboard is mainly focused on dealing with the Rally Deck.  But I've noticed many of those cards work against other decks.

Thanks for any thoughts or advice.

I feel if you're going to do an Ally deck you need a higher density of Allies.   I also notice you're only running cards from the two most current sets.   There are many support cards that could help out quite a bit.

I would give similar advice as I gave with your colorless deck.  Find cards that do what you want them to and make them 4 ofs in the deck.

The first card I would get rid of is Lavastep Raider.  I don't see much benefit to him other than he's a 1 drop.

Basically figure out what you want the deck to do and choose cards that make it consistently do that.

Remember that you only get the colored mana with Crumbling Vestige on your turn and only once per land when you first play it.  Of course pain lands could also serve the purpose of supplying some colored mana options.

Will you be taking this to FNMs?  And are you willing to run some color in the sideboard?  If so I think you could have some fun in games 2 and 3 messing with people by having sideboard answers for just about everything.  Crumbling Vestige would great to play some sorceries or enchantments with. Perhaps Silkwrap or Transgress the Mind.  Pretty much anything with just one colored mana symbol in the casting cost.

Just an after thought I had after I made my last post.

I think it looks more focused.  I'd look at the spells next and see what works best for you meta.  There are limited options for colorless spells, but feel you could get some more reliability if you figure out what's working best.

With Walker of the Wastes being the main reason to build the deck I'd ditch Ruins of Oran-Rief and add more wastes.  I might even consider getting rid of Sea Gate Wreckage for more wastes.  You'll want to maximize the amount of wastes you'll get.

Best of luck crushing your opponents with no colors.

I think you need to add Eldrazi Mimic and remove some of your big expensive creatures.  I also think you have to go with 4 Shrine of the Forsaken Gods and probably add more mana to the deck, or your going to end up with big creatures in your hand you can't cast.

I would look for a bit more consistency in the deck.  Stream line what you want to do and Choose 4 ofs for most things.

I threw together a quick deck based off of yours.

Ignore the sideboard.  I just moved some cards there as a holding area.

Hope this helps.

Thanks for clarifying.

I've put together an alternate versions.

Still looking for any recommendations of changes.

Thanks!

The goal of this deck is to get Exquisite Blood and Sanguine Bond on the board at the same time and create an infinite loop of life gain that kills your opponent. Until that happens you generate white tokens with Lingering Souls, Raise the Alarm, and Spectral Procession. You can then sac these white tokens to Teysa, Orzhov Scion to exile your opponents creatures.

Sorin, Lord of Innistrad gives you some tokens and can make your tokens a threat all by themselves.

As part of the delaying tactic I plan to use Thoughtseize and Castigate for hand disruption.

Disciple of Griselbrand is the sac outlet to start the life gain and set the ball rolling.

I don't have any idea for a side board and would love some advice there.

I know there are better lands available, but I would like to keep this kind of on a budget.  The expensive cards in the deck are ones I already have.

I think this seems like a fun interesting deck. I would welcome any and all input. Thanks for looking.

Hmm the lack of Lilianas is something I am noticing. Being able to get your Zulaport Cutthroats back is amazing. Also Fleshbag Marauder is a great card for keeping your opponents down and it is another target for Liliana.

Liliana and Hangarback would both be great additions to this deck.  The problem is I'm cheap and don't want to spend over $15 on cards I don't have.  Thanks for taking the time to look.

I'm looking to be somewhat competitive with this, but don't want to get to far from the main idea.  Looking for some over all advice about mana base and what cards might be a bit better.

The main idea of the deck is to use Zulaport Cutthroat and sacrificing other creatures to get Butcher of the Horde or  Nantuko Husk in for the kill.  The rest is kind of a control package to get the time to get there.

The side board idea is to go more controlling or direct damage for the control matchup.  I'd love some help here.

Thanks for looking and considering what can be done with this deck.

An alternate version, combining advice and opinions from all over the internet.  Going to need to aquire some cards for it, but I think it has a nice balance, between a few things I've been working on.

End Hostilities has been my sweeper when I play token or super aggro decks.  My FNM meta is full of both.

I agree with you on Abzan Falconer I'm just not sure what's the right number.  Plus drawing that card has won me more than a few games.

I like Ajani Steadfast for a couple reasons. He's 1 mana cheaper, he can add a counter to all creatures, His +1 is really diverse and most importantly he doesn't draw the immediate hate that Ajani, Mentor of Heroes does.  I may try swapping him in.

Thanks for you input.
