Notes
Welcome to the Commander Cube. This cube is designed to run similar to the Commander drafting sets (Commander Legends, Baldur's Gate, etc.).
Player count:
The cube can accomodate up the nine participants. However, it is best when played with 4, 6 or 8.
Setup:
Shuffle all purple-sleeved cards and divide into 20-card booster packs. Deal out three booster packs to each participant. Each participant also receives one Agent of Acquisitions. If using planechase, they also receive a Fractured Powerstone and an Ichor Elixir.
Shuffle the commanders (art-backed sleeves). Commanders may be drafted, Rochester drafted, or dealt randomly to each player. Regardless of the method, the total commanders used should follow this formula...
8-9 players = 3 commanders each
6-7 players = 4 commanders each
5 players = 5 commanders each
4 players = 6 commanders each
3 or less = 8 commanders each
After dealing/drafting commanders, the regular draft begins. Each player will open one pack. They will select two cards from that pack. Then they pass the remainder to the next player. They select two cards from the 18 they just received and pass the rest. Etc.
When all cards from the first packs are drafted, all players open their second pack and repeat the process, passing to the right this time. Once completed, they open the third pack, passing left again.
At any point during the drafting of Cube packs (not commanders), each player may flip their Agent of Acquisitions face down and claiming all remaining cards in a pack (follow the instructions on the Agent of Acquisitions cards).
Once all cards are drafted from all packs, players should have sixty cards (in addition to their Commander options, Agent of Acquisitions, and Fractured Powerstones/Ichor Elixirs, if applicable). From those cards and commanders, they each build a commander deck.
These decks follow the Commander-drafting rules, meaning they will be exactly 60 cards including the commander. All other Commander rules apply regarding color identity, etc.
When deck construction is complete, break into one or more pods and play some Commander (or go home because you didn't think the draft would take THAT long).
