Say I cast killing wave for x=2 per creature, wouldnt I have to then pay 2 per creatures I control? Granted that players lands may be tapped during my turn but wouldnt death touch be better for the mana? and deters being attacked. Thought about royal assasins but theyre just too cheap of a trick in my mind.

Akuba/Shade needed to be unblockable, so I added Denizen and deathtouch. Greater Harvester is badass, didnt come across that while searching so idk yet. Escaped Null's not as cool but its lifelink and will take anything that nighthawk wouldnt be bothered with. Infernal is such a great card for mono black and have wanted an excuse to buy some. All 'n all for my Bilzor build, felt everything worked together well, maybe just sluggish intially

You would have to pay the life, yeah, and you wouldn't, cuz you'd have a greater harvester in your hand, and then drop that after the board is clear.

Deathtouch is fine, but the thing is if I've a lot of creatures, a wide token weenie army coming for ya, and I drop overrun, I don't care about your little 2/1 deathtouch, cuz I'm going to kill you.

Infernal is a terrible card, it is pay 10 life draw four cards.  Terrible.

Bloodgift Demon, Promise of Power, Ambition's Cost, Pain's Reward.  Please get off the Infernal bandwagon.

This'd be a great deck if you got a real high end beater to win with, and mixed up the sorceries for some spot removal, board wipeability.

Yeah logically this decks card quality isn't good enough to lose 10 life for four cards. But it's 3 mana for 4 cards in a deck designed to suck life which is why I felt it was a good enough to add. I feel some dark rit's would go along way here too.

Nothing in this deck sucks life.  You have a couple lifelinks, and one card has extort (which only triggers once per cast).  You need to ... unlearn, what you have learned.

        • Your Mother (02-Feb-2013 10:54)

Ah, gods, and even if you did gain a shittonne of life.  Let's say you had 30 and I was down to 10 through straight up syphoning life.  You would still pay 15 life to draw four cards.  Would you rather be up by 20 life and cast Bloodgift Demon or be up by 5 life and draw four?

Draw is a necessity here and I feel I need the best rate more than life.<-- Waiting for the comments on that. Ideally I want an advantage in board presence, being a bitch to send damage through by taking down threats as I gain a few pts lost. I really didn't want to overload on any one ability bc wicked akuba needed a few to be effective. I liked Syphon and how reusable it is, especially if lifelink is a no show. Profane's such a helpful card, Im suprised to see you chose to exchange it in the Rogue deck.

Wicked Akuba's ability can be used over and over.  Hit once, tap all swamps and player loses life.  Profane works, but I'd rather Exsanguinate or Black Sun's Zenith and do it better.  And the best rate for draw isn't fucking Infernal Contract.  Necropotence (illegal as hell), Phyrexian Arena.  Even Minion's Murmurs.  I cannot imagine a scenario where Infernal Contract is a good idea.  I guess if you have two life and need the magic bullet, but giving up half the distance to the goal is just poor.  Poor.

Cut Escaped Null, it wants to be blocked so it goes against the theme.  Change it up for Ashling or Greater Harvester to really lay the smack late game.  All them sorceries can go.  Exsanguanate for lifesuck, Consume Spirit to hit creatures, Consuming Vapors works, but Killing Wave or Smallpox would be more fun.  I am pleased at Wicked Akuba, I have much love for that card.
