I wasn't getting to a point where I could afford to play Exquisite Blood when I drew it, and while it is powerful on its own when the situation could arise...Unholy Annex fits the deck better both thematically and is always useful.

Illicit Auction is fun, but really only fun if I am the one with the most life and can bully people into letting me keep whatever card I pick. There arent a ton of ways to let me force someone I need to lose life to do so, and I am usually ok with my opponents having good creatues because I want them to be killing eachother.

Anyway, lets put the Spiderman card in for a spin and see if it does ok.

Lavaspur Boots aren't giving a ton of protection, and I would love to get a bit more ramp to make plays with some of the more expensive equipment easier. Plus if I do shift to a more robust reanimation package, Sad Robot is a great target for that.

CHUCKY WINS! SOUL HIDDEN!

This was Chucky's BEST game and so far the only one that went absolutely according to the master plan:

Drake was able to put up a really powerful board fairly quickly, and Patrick became similarly threatening. But a couple mass goad triggers, and no one was able to hold back and everyone was at a low health total with no one able to block very well. Mjölnir, Storm Hammer let me tap down Drake's one scary blocker and deal 12 damage to his face, given his mass army of Myr and allowing me to knock him out of the game as he threatened lethal. Hunted Horror gave me some extra power early in the game, and gave a boost to Joe who was then doing more damage when swinging into our shared opponents.

That left Joe with 1 life remaining and Patrick with....Simic Ascendancy with 20 counters! Joe was a real one and cast Farewell to exile EVERYTHING, but while Patrick was at 15 life and Joe at 1, I was at 38. Sleeper Agent killed Joe for 1 mana, and after that I grounded out a limited style ground game to kill Patrick, who probably would have one if the life totals were closer.

A great game. Chucky is not super easy to pilot, because you need to buff the right opponent and pick your spots...but also you are able to ignore big ground threats a lot because they aren't a threat to you most of the game.

Not really a game. Patrick took a turn 2 Sol Ring and used it to ramp his way into a Dragonhawk, Fate's Tempest that, along with an early Karlach, simply took over the game for a quick victory.

A lesson here could be to run more removal, but honestly I think sometimes you just don't draw one of the 10 pieces that would have mattered.

I have a lot of creature removal, and its sat in hand three games in a row...so now that Akroan Horse and Hunted Horror have become into my possession, I am pivoting two cards into getting more "gifted fodder"

Pain's Reward is meant to be a fun game, but it really only does damage to one volunteer and not in a way that helps me. Prisoner's Dilemma was always meant to be in this deck, so it makes since to swap it in to this spot in particular

Swapping out cards that are meant to do damage to everyone with better cards in that regard. Giggling Skitterspike is also a flavorful addition. Also Sycorax Commander just seems better in another deck, since I can't punish for the wheel option.

I made a concerted effort to not over extend and make sure I only played chucky when it counted. I think the play was correct and cautious enough, but not enough disruption to stop Silas from going infinite.

Tbf, all of my interaction was creature killers, and I never drew a way to recur Chucky over and over again. And even then I was in a position to be threatening.

I was focused pretty hard by John-Michael, rightly so as I was getting close to assembling some nasty combos. By the time John-Michael was out of answers, Silas was full of them. Patrick was playing a group hug deck that 100% helped me throughout the game, and I never got to see the corner turn.

Despite the focus, Chucky's Turbo Fog was able to keep the heat off of me and I had a healthy life total most of the game until Silas eventually took control.

I do think I need more board wipes than I was thinking. My thought was that I WANTED my opponents to have creatures...but in truth that isn't always true, I think I more want to escape damage as much as possible and be able to swing in freely. Every turn I live is another turn where I could draw into Blade of Selves or Ojer Axonil, Deepest Might

The Master, Multiplied has earned his place as a beater. He is a one card removal magnet. The concern is trying to make sure I don't over extend with him on the field and that is an art form I hope to learn soon. I played him and then played Chucky the next turn but then got board wiped, losing both threats. Tbf, Chucky isn't really a threat without the ways to make his ETB happen regularly, but still he has the drain.

Rakdos Joins Up was a card I thought about cutting multiple times but the recursion ability grabbing something like The Master or another big threat out the graveyard is really good in the deck, and the static ability after, while not exactly what I want, has a ton of synergy with the deck. It has earned its spot for now.

Patrick ran away with a Grave Pact and Token generation, allowing no one a board presence and no one had Enchantment Removal in hand. With no way to keep a creature alive, at instant speed mind you due to a Ashnods Altar

The deck did do the thing. It definitely plays more like a control, turbo fog that slips in damage when it can. I need to lean into that feeling
