Selling Magic the Gathering Cards on the Deckbox Market

The Deckbox Market system offers features for selling and buying cards directly on deckbox. When your collection is managed on the site, what better place to manage sales and purchases than here - directly and automatically interacting with your tradelist and wishlist.

How does selling work?

After enabling your seller account, you can add prices to cards in your tradelist. This can be done on an individual card basis, or by auto-pricing everything at the click of a button, setting prices relative to the Deckbox Market Price.

Buyers will see your offer on the card pages. If they have those cards in their wishlist, they will also see a notification on their profile, as soon as you add a new priced card to your tradelist. They can then visit your seller page, see all other cards they might be interested in, make an order and pay. The money will be directly deposited to your paypal account and you will be notified via email about the new order. All that remains is to ship it and notify the seller of the tracking code or other details.

How much does this cost?

Our fee is 6.9% of the sold cards value (not including shipping) for singles, and 2.5% for sealed products. We will send an invoice on the first of the month for the fees of all your sales in the previous month.

What you need to become a seller

Buyers will use paypal to puchase cards, so you need to have a Verified PayPal account to be able to receive payments.

You also will need to provide a description of your store policies, your shipping fees and a billing address.

To finish the process, we require a verification payment of 10$, made from the Verified PayPal business account where you wish to receive buyer payments. This is not a signup fee, you will receive a 10$ discount on your first Deckbox Bill, or you can redeem it for 2 premium months on our Premium Page . We require this payment in order to:

  • Verify the existence of your seller account, and that it is in good standing and can receive buyer payments.
  • Verify that you are the owner of the account. Requiring only a paypal email address from sellers would create problems when wrong addresses are introduced and buyers send money to wrong accounts.
  • We also want to make sure sellers are serious about providing a quality service. Buyers should know that even sellers with no feedback have committed in some way to the market, not just clicked a 'I am selling cards' checkbox.

The verification payment can be refunded should you change your mind about becoming a seller, provided your account is in good standing and you have shipped all sold orders.

Current limitations

At the moment we only support card prices in USD. (Sellers can still set a preferred currency, buyers will make a payment in that currency to the seller's paypal account. Exchange rates used are fetched from the European Central Bank ) We intend to remove this limitation in a future release.
