The political puppets deck has a very idealistic approach toward competition.  It uses inconveniences like Propaganda, as well as gifts provided by Zedruu, to try and convince other players to keep from attacking you and do your dirty work for you.

But people suck.  They will rarely, if ever, abide by your tentative agreements, and the original deck offers little in the way of the "big stick" necessary for any soft-speaking.

This modification remedies that problem.  Cards like Hunted Phantasm, Thundersong Trumpeter, Order/Chaos, and Bronze Bombshell allow a player a wider range of political maneuvering.  Keeping a card like this on the field, unused, is a great way of showing other players you mean business, and ensures that they will not attack you unless they wish to incur the wrath of a 4/6 unblockable or a 7-damage bombshell lobbed in the face by the otherwise generous Zedruu.  Use the Ascensions and the Sovereign with care - they will likely make you a substantial threat in the minds of your opponents.
