Notes
Goal for the Deck - Turbo ramp out lifegain payoffs, use Selvala to trigger them, beat heads.
Secondary Plan - Aetherflux Reservoir
Weakness - ?
Target Power Level - 7
Win Turn Goal - 8
Landbase - Mostly upgraded
Staples - Several
Free Spells - Free protection spells
Combo - Aetherflux Reservoir
Tutors - None
The goal of this deck is to get Selvala out turn 2, and then ramp out Lifegain payoffs and win via combat damage.
Alternative Commander - None.
Current Record - 4-5
Lost vs. Rilsa Rael, Zinnia, and Mizzix - Went pretty well, even if I was a turn slow. The untapping and Parley worked really well, got a ton of mana. Became the archenemy on turn 6 or 7, with Paragon. Board wipe :(. Was not able to rebuild before Mizzix went off and got 6 extra turns.
Lost vs. Omnath, Satoru, Ulalek - Ulalek was crippled all game until the end, Omnath was pretty aggressive at first, Satoru ninjitsu'ed in a blightsteel to win. I felt like I was in a pretty good position through the game, but the focus on 1 mana ramp creatures makes me really vulnerable to board wipes and rebuilding.
Lost vs. Jetmir, Bumbleflower, Mizzix, and Ghyrson - The engine came together. I had an untapper, and was parleying every turn, and eventually had 18 cards in hand... but only 5-6 lands due to boardwipes. And only Beast Within for castable instants. Felt stuck, was generating mana each turn but NOTHING TO DO WITH IT.
Won vs. Massacre Girl, Ygra, Yawgmoth - Had a WILD opening hand with Drumbellower and Well Rested. Got Selvala up to 22/24 ish. Should have just killed Yawg with commander damage. Yawg player managed to get out a Dictate of Erebos and wipe the board, almost managed to win but I wiped everything thanks to the Ygra player playing a Mycosynth Lattice, turning everything into an Artifact. Wiped everyone else's board with a Season, protected my own stuff, won two turns later through conceding after adding 16 +1/+1 counters to everything.
Loss vs. Teysa, Sauron, and Ur-Dragon - Didn't really get to the point where I started snowballing. Didn't draw an untapper, and this deck is much slower without that. Started double spelling around turn 5 or so, but couldn't keep up with Teysa.
Won vs. Sauron and Lord of the Nazgul - Had a GOD hand, got to roll out Selvala on Turn 2, then Drumbellower on turn 3, and it was off to the races. I ended up deliberately slowing myself down, and I made several misplays unfortunately. Still ended up winning due to the other two popping off and running each other down. This deck is so much fun.
All Star Cards
Drumbellower
Seedborn Muse
Nykthos Paragon
Good Cards
Lathiel, the Bounteous Dawn
Archangel of Thune
Abzan Battle Priest
Burgeoning - Got me to three on turn 2
Last March of the Ents - Had two good opportunities to cast it.
Well Rested - Amazing with an untapping effect. SO GOOD.
Glorious Sunrise - Liked it, felt good.
Guardian Project
Bad Cards
Concordant Crossroads - Helped others more than me. Not the appropriate deck for it.
Cards Stuck in Hand
Alhammeret's Archive - Felt stuck in hand and never impactful enough to play.

Melesse | Edited 18-Sep-2024 12:05Felt like there was a lack of stuff to do on other people's turns. Need to add more instants and/or mana sinks for Selvala when she taps on other turns for 2-3 mana. Maybe mana filtering, since she makes green mana?
