At the time of resolution, it checks for the greatest power among creatures you control, counting all effects, including those caused by any type of counters. It then creates a token with that as its P/T. (This is not a copy in any way, shape, or form - be careful with the way you word things.) It does not put any kind of additional counters or anything else on that creature.

If you want more details or a the way a specific case works, just ask.

There's an indicator for foil, but I don't think you can set it under the default value

That is true, unfortunately, and there have been times when I was adding a list of foils, and had to set each manually.

I've considered requesting a couple variants of this put it would require, for starters, a complete overhaul of the current rules text for all cards and/or someone who's job was to match cards (or at least, to moderate the matching)

However, the fact it is no longer a creature wouldn't stop you from sacrificing the permanent... but there is no toughness associated with it.

So again, I could be wrong here, but my sense is that the spell would take Kruphix, he stops being a creature and cannot block, you still sac him, but you don't gain any life.

True. I would have mentioned that had I noticed the bit about lifegain. Good catch.

Short Answer: it works as you would hope, you do  keep it until EOT and then sacrifice it.

Explanation: The spell checks if it is a creature (aka a legal target) twice. Once upon casting of the spell and once upon resolution. At both of those times it is under your opponent's control, so as long as he has sufficient devotion the spell will work

What new layout?

Hear, hear!

I cannot really do that from outside the system.

How would it choose what cards to put in it?

I may be able to write a webapp to do this if you can explain what you are asking for.

Since we are talking about flags, is it possible to add a filter for certain flags? Right now, I can only search for foiled cards. After the next release, which removes the 'promo' and 'textless' flags, it would be nice to be able to search for the specific cards in my inventory which have those flags and then remove them.

Yep, definitely coming!

Might we be able to keep those flags to facilitate searches and suchlike?

They will remain in the system, as people have set them in the past, but we will not allow them to be set anymore on new printings.

My opinion is that they should either be available or completely nonexistent.

very nice. i like the ideas. when are we going to be able to list land cards as full art?

You can in two ways.

  1. Use the old textless flag

  2. mark it as the apropriate version

Why is the distinction significant?

For example, you have 147 feedback, 100% positive. Does it matter how much is trading, and how much is selling

Also, it is distinctly viewable on your profile and if you click on the link

+1

for now you can find a list and import it as a workaround

You MUST file a Bad Trading Report (BTR) first. For rules on BTRs and more details, see here.

I've personally pulled tons of cards from packs and other sealed product that seem to have a different finish like you describe, even within the same set.

Same here. One in particular that I remember was the M14 Deckbuilder's Toolkit, most of the green cards were noticeably darker (the green part) and had a slightly different finish.

There are a ton of things that weren't distributed to players that end up in their hands anyway. Summer magic is probably the most famous.

Okay, that is definitely true. The question is, were they in any form of packaging? However, I think this is going a bit far off topic.

Listing this as available and then being open to a discussion about it makes it easier to track down obscure things like this.

Okay. As a collector and a historian (not of Magic) I can understand that.

Kammikaze wrote:

Since the "promo" Suture Priest was released in a sealed pack sort of thing it makes sense to keep that version as an option. When I suggested it be removed I didn't know it was released in a sealed package.

What I'm finding when I search indicates that it wasn't distributed to players as a set.

If you look at all sellers, you will see that it is sold by someone out of country for that price

But letting people trade on the specialness when there is no way to verify it is a bad idea.

Also true.  My point is just that while there may be no discernable difference between the promo and regular Suture Priests, there is still some difference (in that they come from different sources), but there is no difference at all in the Ajani V. promos because they came from the exact same stock.

But for the purposes of this site, that is not a meaningful distinction, because there is no way to verify it (unless you have it sealed, in which case you would list it differently.)

I can probably look over the weekend

And how are you supposed to tell which is which?  Note that the "Launch Parties" edition has no price data on that page.  I think the issue here is that the same card (with the same date stamped in foil) was given out at both the prerelease and the launch party events.  It's the same card, from the same stock.  That it was given out at two different events doesn't make them different editions.

true.
so they should be combined as one

that is how tcgplayer has him.

I know of no way to do this in the inventory

Looks pretty good.
Just as a tip, next time post a link to the deck (which is located here).

To the best of my knowledge, no it will not work.
