My sealed pool for the MH2 Prerelease, as well as the deck I built from it. Sword of Hearth and Home was a great pickup which was going to go in any deck. White was pretty weak, which was a shame because it had the best fixing (2 WB bridges and 2 WG bridges). Red was pretty decent, but really didn't have much fixing.

I was quickly drawn to GB because it had decent removal and creatures, including some pretty good blink value targets for the Sword (Drey Keeper for an army of squirrels, Loathsome Curator for removal, Timeless Witness to recur things, etc.). However, my initial GB build included some cards that didn't really synergize as much as I liked. Not many counters for Deepwood Denizen, Urban Daggertooth, or Smell fear. Hardly any discard for Gilt-Blade Prowler or Kitchen Imp. Also not that many early game plays. I considered running Liquimetal Torque as a way to ramp into my 4s and 5s (and an excuse to run maindeck artifact destruction), but instead I ended up looking for a splash.

As mentioned, white had the best fixing, especially for GB. However, while there were a couple of early drops and a few counter synergies... it just wasn't worth it. Red had some pretty good cards. But it had almost no fixing.

Blue, on the other hand, had two UB bridges for fixing. It also had Phantasmal Dreadmaw as a pretty big and cheap creature Mental Journey to refill my hand (or landcycle for fixing), and Hard Evidence to hold the ground early and cantrip. So Shiny also could work as decent removal, especially if I got some squirrel tokens out. And Junk Winder seemed pretty good with my Drey Keepers.

So yeah, I went Sultai. It turns out that my green and blue were about equal at this point (black definitely being the main color), so I skewed my land base a bit towards black. I don't know if my splash plan was really optimal, or if I got the land balance totally right.

But I DID end up winning the first three rounds and IDing in the forth, so... it worked!
