Rules of Engagement is a political Orzhov enchantment deck built around coercive combat, cursed diplomacy, and social engineering through Auras. Rather than locking the table down, Eriette rewards carefully manipulating opposing creatures with goad effects, Vows, Impetus enchantments, and weaponized “gifts” that encourage everyone else to solve your problems for you. Opponents are pressured into attacking each other while Eriette quietly drains the table turn after turn.

The deck thrives on layered enchantment synergies and recursive value engines. Enchantress effects, Aura recursion, and token generators like Sigil of the Empty Throne, Archon of Sun’s Grace, and Ajani’s Chosen allow the deck to recover quickly after wipes while steadily building inevitability. Cards like Promise of Loyalty, Combat Calligrapher, and Nils, Discipline Enforcer reshape combat around the table without completely shutting the game down, keeping matches interactive, political, and chaotic in the best way.

Win conditions come through incremental drain, overwhelming enchantment-generated board states, and amplified life-loss effects from Archfiend of Despair and Wound Reflection. The deck rarely wins explosively out of nowhere. Instead, it tightens the screws over time until the table realizes the “helpful” enchantments and carefully negotiated attacks have quietly become a death sentence.
