Roon was a pretty exciting deck to play up until I added the latest set of upgrades - at that point for one reason or another I just got all caught up in trying to shape and form the others. I think I'd really like playing Roon should the opportunity arise. We'll see the next time I get a chance; if the table's commanders (or players) seem like they're going to be a big-time threat I might reach for Roon as I feel like it probably has the best-realized plan. Which is utterly ridiculous considering what that plan is. 

Put in an order this morning on SCG to get the following:
-Emiel the Blessed
-Tishana, Voice of Thunder
-Lae'zel's Acrobatics
-Eldrazi Displacer
-Oji, the Exquisite Blade
-Archaeomancer
-Aether Channeler
-Fleeting Spirit
-Brutalizer Exarch
-Ghostly Pilferer
That will, if nothing else, add a fair amount of extra good choices for this deck. Emiel, Oji, Tishana, and the E-Disp are all going to be tough to leave out, along with Acrobatics and the Archaeomancer, but any of these would make a worthy addition. We're in the "good problems" stage now. 
Adding E-Disp does add a requirement for additional sources of colorless mana, so switching some of the duals into things like Yavimaya Coast might be a good plan. 

Hanging off of the quickie recap on Tayam's page, I played this twice at EDH night last night, struggling for white mana the first time and - get this - another Trisky win the second time! The best part was that the win was really the way I had drawn it up in my head, more or less, since I drew a shit-ton of cards and used Progs to discard down on the opponent's end step. Now, to be completely fair, the reason any of that happened was due to a couple of factors - most significantly, that the other two guys laid off of Research Tamiyo until I could ult her and thus do whatever I felt like, coupled with not seeming threatening and thus not getting attacked much. That started with a Praetor's Counsel, giving me back some blinks and things so that I could dig through the deck to try and find Progs (Trisky was already in hand, iirc). Once I hit there (after just dumping a truly impressive amount of stuff onto the battlefield) I explained to Lance, the remaining opponent and all around good dude, that unless he could win the game on the next turn I'd be able to discard down to 13 with Progs and win with Trisky. Which I did, since he couldn't. 
I'm truly impressed that I was able to make that happen twice in two weeks. It's worth pointing out that having Roon as the commander (and not doing a lot of swinging) makes me seem like much less of a threat, which suits the deck just fine. 
I should also point out that the guy playing Mishra (I've played with him before but didn't catch his name) was just about to pull some serious shenanigans with Lithoform Engine when Wrong Turn made things way more interesting and swung the game solidly in my favor (I gave Mishra to Lance, who was playing a Skullbriar BG stompy Voltron deck). That's two weeks in a row that WT has been pretty dang useful, even in a really weird and goofy way. I think it may have earned its place.
Thragtusk also showed itself as a winner - gaining 5 life and getting a 3/3 with each flicker is an awful lot of value. I was up around 65 life when Tammy McResearch went ultimate.

Lagrella and friends have been integrated into the deck and the list above is accurate as of today (4/3). I'm hoping to run it again and see how it does, but I'll leave it up to the way the table sets up. (Like if it's a budget table or whatever.) 
Emiel is still a big hole here that needs to be filled; that along with Lae'zel's Acrobatics and Oji feels like it would make things a lot smoother. The three of those are less than $5; adding Tishana makes it more like $7 and would make it feel a lot more solid. I'll keep checking at GMR but not 100% I'll see one there. Might keep going with CLB as my weekly pack, at least until MOM is available. :) MOM looks pretty dang sweet.

This deck had a big night on Monday the 27th - ran it for the first time with Roon at the head, pulled a Far Traveler in the CLB pack I opened, and gave Lily a buylist of U/C cards that provided several upgrades (including a Lagrella!). This isn't even mentioning that the deck won with Triskadekaphile! Truly stupendous. Here's how it happened:
I was playing against three guys - Josh, playing a W/B Kambal life drain deck; Cody, a mono-green, pretty well-put-together Marwyn Elves deck, and Thomas, playing the new NEO Jor Kadeen deck working Equipment in Boros. Thomas was struggling with mana issues (couldn't get any white going), Josh was piloting the deck for the first time and was doing pretty well, gaining a fair amount of life off of Kambal's triggers; and Cody was seeing his deck do exactly what it intends to do - although his life total was dwindling in perilous fashion, which eventually led to his undoing. Cody was definitely the threat the whole time he was in the game - at one point he was able to attack with Beastmaster Ascension online and a ton of creatures and tokens, taking Thomas and Josh down to single digits - but he didn't send anything my way. By that time I had Roon, Amareth, and Trisky on the board and was able to send Amareth over to bring him down to 4, I think; Thomas finished him off with his commander the next turn. There were several awesome moments, including using Wrong Turn (which was still in here despite not being on this list at all) to keep Cody's board from becoming utterly unstoppable by giving his Defiler of Vigor (a DMU card that was ridiculous here) to Thomas. That turned out to be important.
Anyway, Cody's big swing wasn't quite big enough to kill anyone, so we combined to take him out before he got to untap again. In the meantime, I got Teferi's Ageless Insight (probably a keeper here if we're going for Trisky wins) on the board with a Cloudblazer available for blinking - and I was able to do that with Momentary Blink rather than using Roon - which got me to the end of my turn with 11 cards in hand. Thomas was out after another swing with Amareth, so it was down to Josh and me - he hit me for 5 damage or so from a demon of some sort, but I was able to flicker Amareth to trigger Guardian Project, which in concert with TAI got me to 13. I was super proud to be able to slap the cards in my hand down one at a time until I got to 13. 
The next game was a budget game and I played Kaza; I'll recap it on that page. Some shenanigans were present.
All in all a very excellent night of EDH. My next mission: to like, actually get to know and exchange phone numbers with some of the people there and even hang out afterwards or something.
