Main Deck - 150 cards, 115 distinct
Sideboard - 193 cards, 73 distinct
Notes
was 150
150 is calibrated to a ten person draft where everyone get's 5 land picks. This can still be fine with 13 card packs and 5 land, which feels more manageable in any case. That means in an 8 person, 30 lands are not included.
120 = 12 per player average (4 per pack)
150 = 15 per player Average (5 per pack)
3/5 of the cards should produce color (90). This makes it on average that a player will be able to get 9 lands that produce color, making them forcibly embrace the colorless routes.
20/150 is about 1/7.5 This is the proportion for basic lands and locus's, making them in about every other pack. This is great drafting tension.
Desert's are currently at 38. At 30 they are directly 1/5, or about 3 per player average. 38 seems about right.
I LOVE scorched ruins. I can't really justify it, as it's punished by LD, and there's not a lot of cards that can untap lands in the cube. It's so flavorful though!
By happenstance, there are 60 lands in both colorless and produce color that also have activated abilities. This is 40% of the cube, which means 2/5. This means that the average drafter will have access to 6 utility lands in their deck. This is a neat feature of this cube, should make for more options and thus greater play as there are more lines of play.
Basic Land Options:
Plains-All four Tempest, Urza's Saga, Mirrodin 287, Time Spiral all 4, Shards of Alara 233, All four Shadowmoor
Island- Time Spiral 287, All 4 Shadowmoor, New Phyrexia 168, Hours of Devastation 186, Shards of Alara 236 and 235
