Notes

For having marked treasure as valuable for this deck I am certainly light on it. A lot of the treasure makes are lackluster, so it's understandable, but I have to at least get the best in, which includes goldspan dragon for sure, revel in riches, ruthless knave, and maybe even brass's bounty. As we get to the end here we are tight on spaces, but not entirely without wiggle room, which is lucky.

Having a solid ten cards that will completely warp the game is not only sufficient for warping, but means I will see them a good amount of time. Feels right. They are also a variety of costs and types, so I don't think I'll feel flooded on them.

I have 5 slots to address the treasure issue, reinforce my attrition plan, and add flair cards, as well round out my doomsday piles. If I do not get enough treasure in, I may have to switch Ingenuity engine for Volcanic torrent as it is mostly unsupported without an incidental density of these. This would be a net loss for the deck if this must occur. This makes me come back to cycling, as I could swap many of these cards for treasure cards, and turn the cyclone into volcanic torrent. Treasure cards, at least the ones I've identified above, are a better fail state than a fleshbag marauder, as mana is a key to any game. It also allows me to turn my landcyclers into true ramp, which is desirable as well. The fat bodies are appealing, but I might do better with being truer to my game plan. I don't have to cut all the cyclers either, or can otherwise upgrade them to better fixing as I have a host of arena effects if I want them that are untouched as of yet. This seems a fairly straightforward improvement, and may even yield free slots and reduction of supply so is almost impossible to say no to. The one thing that makes me continue to hesitate is is the cyclone itself. When resolved, this warp effect is among the best if not the best. It may be too diluted in this shell, as I think I would be luck to get one, maybe two top's uses out of it. The games where I turn on 10 more warp effects though are going to be a lot of fun. I think a more dedicated cyclone shell would be fun, and perhaps a more budget focused option. I'm going to cut it though because it feels more like a red herring than a feature.

We now have 9 things that make treasure which is much more acceptable. The pilferer is the weakest, but it offers a lot of cards, so it makes the cut. Two of those are rummaging effects, which compensates for the cycling loss, although I now want to warp with a card in hand in case I hit one of these. I also picked up a removal spell in the impetus. With the new density, I'm considering Magda, Brass's Bounty, Gadrak, Hoarding Dragon, and hellkite tyrant for the deck. These create a back door to portal as well as each other, and offer another win condition. In fact, these 5 could be the end of my package, but comes at the cost of no further attrition reinforcement, doomsday packages, or any other stand alone good card I wanted to consider.

Incidentally, I got a sub pirate theme now. Seems flavorful with a rogue tiefling.

I just checked my warp package. Without cyclone, I won't be warping instant and sorceries. They can still be cascaded into. This is a net postive, and the ones in my list are geared to be used proactively, so are fine as is. The highest cascade is 7, so any of these 7 or greater need to be played for their own merit. Warp world is a huge payoff, keeps it's spot. Then there are the decrees. They are always worth it generally speaking, but are less appealing in this list if never warped or cascaded. Annihilation probably still makes the cut, as tibalt followed by this is a very good time. The black one though is now just a very expensive wrath. It is likely better served as a creature providing some battlefield control.

I don't think I have enough for tergrid to be playable. At least it that betrays has annihilator.

At the end here I am requestioning the demon package. A lot of the demon's do what I'm interested in in terms of card advantage and attrition. This is on top of three I play already. They also warp very well, as does Liliana's contract. playing as a card draw spell is fine, and can I incidentally also be able to trigger the win con? How many demons do I need for this to be realistic? Like I said, the demon's are totally serviceable, so the win con might be entirely incidential, which would be fantastic. I'm thinking somewhere in the ballpark of 6-7. Were not trying to force it to happen, but they are common enough that we might get 1-2 into play easy. From here we can warp non-demons more specifically, or tutor up the contract/last demon. I only have 10 things that interact with creatures in my attrition deck, the demons can help with that. Duplicating demon's is also real good. Then there's the ultra-efficient attrition cards, the best graveyard hate cards, and the final considerations for doomsday.

For the last doomsday cards, we can answer that. Our Doomsday is either a single warp or double warp Doomsday, depending on how much mana we have available.

A single warp doom's day is going to put a possessed portal into play, then try to resolve either tibalt or warp a further card into play that breaks the symetery, such as it that betrays, Tevesert, or some other such advantage. We could also consider a single warp on a blightsteel colossus. This leaves us plenty of cards to build a back up or preamble. Another single option is Bolas's citadel. The citadel will give us a lot of gas, and the ability to deploy multiple spells, most likely ending in posesssed portal. Bolas's citadel is also a fine value engine on it's own, and offers us the additional angle. Citadel with an elixir in the deck goes infinite. The cheapest we can warp an artifact with top control is 4, and it becomes increasingly apparent how good reality scramble is. Bolas's citadel may even be superior to aetherworks marvel. Bolas's citadel allows us to single warp at seven mana into the kiki/conscript win con. Double warping, done with warp world or double reality scramble, or a combination of effects, also provides this combo.

I've convinced myself on the citadel. Citadel also allows me to chain treasure spells into revel in riches into possessed portal.

Demon update! I've added just a few of the choicest demons that shore up our attrition issue + liliana's contract. We now have six demons and the incidential win condition, our deck is better well rounded, and we still have 3 slots! The demons are so tempting. Once you build the intial package, the whole hoard of them offers them to your service? From a bad attrition to tokens to card advantage. I've already got the mininum to make the contract viable, actually 1 more than mininum, I have the option of two lands that make sneaking in a demon possible, further enabling a contract win, and I even hit the tipping point on blood speaker. Blood speaker is the perfect demonic servant. It fetch's demons, is fodder for demons and sacrifice, and then recurs itself to begin again. A blood speaker makes the contract actually much more viable, and I'm tempted to try to get 3 more demons in to shift from viable to likely if present. This package is much less anemic than cycling, and it is surprisingly insular in that every demons matters card significantly makes the rest better, and the demons play on their own. Like Rakdos, showstopper was a close consideration all the time, but with an increased demon/devil count, the chance of it being one sided is excellent. Even OG rakdos get's decidedly better. The question is what to cut?

I've noticed that Eternal scourge is not going to pull it's wait much of the time. This is because although we can exile it, we are not relicing ourself all the time, so we won't be able to do it on tap as much. Squee can be played from graveyard, so he's fine with it. Then there is the issue of cascade. Cascade is worse than warping, but is part of our dedicated chaos engine. It defines the feel of our deck. But the cascade cards are much worse, most of them barely worth a card, and it's really only throes of chaos and the pheonix that justify the others. And even of them, the pheonix is mostly clunky. Throes itself is standalone, adds an element of chaos while being worth a card. In topdecking, turns every land into action, which is what's up. I think I can replace the other 4 as long the replacements are demons and devils who contribute to our game plan by tutoring, card draw, or chaos, or are other engines. Less cascade means less random spells too, which is overall net positive.

I love my manabase. I'm playing the full 36 to ensure my land drops, but at the same time it's priced to move. I've got 7 cyclers and 3 recurring card draw lands, as well as two retrace cards and squee, so I should be flowing through cards pretty well even if we are in sire of insanity/Mindslicer mode. I also have rix maadi to keep the pressure on when in this mode. I've got a base of 8 basics and another 4 that searches them, as well as cards that care about basics/swamps, so I should be able to and want to get a couple swamps into play early, which protects me from blood moon/magus. I've got 3 demons hidden in there, and 3 cards that continually produce tokens for my sacrifice hungry deck.  I have 10 colorless lands, but 2 of those can be swapped for color. And for added utility, I've got a lone bojuka bog for much needed graveyard hate, and can put in scavenger grounds if needed. This mana supports this deck very well, in curve, fixing, deck restrictions, and utility, as well as shoring weak points in the color pairing. Manabases are my best craft.
