May I ask why you need a buried ruin? Also Stifle and Trickbind can keep the angels. 1 or 2 populate instants I think are available too.
    • Knuttypoo | 05-Feb-2016 18:12
Yeah, Buried Ruin doesn't seem to have much to do in this deck. As for saving or copying the angel tokens, maybe Rootborn Defenses would be okay. Stifle and Trickbind are a bit pricey, though.
      • Alan | 05-Feb-2016 19:46
        $3 is pricey?
        • Knuttypoo | 05-Feb-2016 19:53
They're like $5 a piece. Justin ain't spending $10 for two cards just to save an angel token.
          • justintryon | 06-Feb-2016 16:34
When I went to the Scourge pre-release, I pulled a foil Stifle. I've long since sold it, but I'm not interested in keeping the angel tokens from Geist. Buried Ruin probably could come out as I only have 2 total artifacts in the deck. What this deck needs is Command Beacon, as everyone hates on GoST.
            • Knuttypoo | 06-Feb-2016 18:00
People aren't being nice to Geist?
            • Knuttypoo | Edited 07-Feb-2016 03:54
What deck is your Command Beacon in now?
              • justintryon | 07-Feb-2016 23:21
It will be in Daxos. However, I may need to re-consider that.
  • Knuttypoo | Edited 03-Feb-2016 02:02
Maybe ditch Scion of Ugin or Revered Dead and replace them with Graceblade Artisan or Gudul Lurker. Those fit better.
    • justintryon | 03-Feb-2016 02:12
Good choices both. I like having Scion of Ugin in there because he's a colorless spirit, thus getting around any protection from X color, and I like Regeneration on the RD. As you may have seen from my notes, changes to the deck are coming...
      • Knuttypoo | 03-Feb-2016 02:20
If you want another colorless flying spirit you could put Dancing Scimitar in there.
        • justintryon | 03-Feb-2016 03:18
If I owned one, indeed I would!
  • Shawn | 13-Aug-2014 16:32
Spectra Ward is amazing.  It's in Bruna too.  =o)
  • Knuttypoo | 18-Feb-2014 15:05
I'd lose the Hindering Light and Spectral Procession and replace them with a couple decent counterspells so that this shmebula character can't play any shenanigans.
    • Shawn | 18-Feb-2014 16:03
I was with you until so.
  • Shawn | Edited 18-Feb-2014 14:11
Some ideas for cards:- auramancer/Monk Idealist, Hanna, Ship's Navigator, Sovereigns of Lost Alara, Umbra Mystic, Sun Titan, Replenish
  • Shawn | 22-Nov-2013 20:04
Why Seal of Cleansing?  Is it becuase of Sphere of Safety?  Disenchant costs the same, does the same thing, and is an instant.

    Dismantling Blow is even better.
    • justintryon | 22-Nov-2013 20:08
Yup, adding to the enchantment count. Besides, I have 4 of the foil-y DCI ones and have no place else to use them! Sad face :(
I might still go with the Spine of Ish Sah instead.
  • Knuttypoo | 13-Nov-2013 00:22
Oh no! You're taking out Urza's Factory?! I thought that was your win condition!
    • justintryon | 13-Nov-2013 14:17
Well look who just got all snarky!? I figured with Azorius Keyrune and Thunder Totem that if I get attacked with a creature with intimidate I can hold it off with that. Besides, it makes room for Riot Control, and who doesn't like that and Elite Archanist together?
  • Shawn | 03-Oct-2013 20:47
I like Aqueous Form here (unblockability in this deck makes sense) and Nimbus Naiad.  I actually don't like Heliod in this deck (though since you just bought him, I'm sure you want to play him).  His buff and token production doesn't do much for this deck.  The Eidolon is too little of an effect - especially for 4 mana (bestow).  Keep the Mesa Enchantress in there.  There are better things to cut.  I like cutting Blessing and Vassal Soul.  I'd keep Ethereal Armor.  First strike and even just the +1/+1 is good, and you potentially have up to 20 enchantments in here.
    • justintryon | 04-Oct-2013 13:50
Thanks man! Heliod and Sphere of Safety could be a thing. Did you see what Heliod makes? Enchantment creatures. It's just like Elite Arcanist/ Safe Passage but even more annoying as it could potentially stop everyone from attacking me, not just one player. I could switch Ethereal Armor for Armored Acsension? I just feel like most of the time I'll have more plains than enchantments on the board? Although with Heliod...
      • Shawn | 04-Oct-2013 14:43
You have 18 enchantments and only 14 plains (Hallowed Fountain).  Ethereal is way better IMO.

Yes, Heliod and SoS work well together, but you also don't have a way to tutor for them, so them pairing up is unlikely.  At least you have a few things for the Archanist to suit up with.

SoS is pretty sweet in general.  I wouldn't expect you to cut Heliod, I just didn't think it was a great fit for the deck.
  • Shawn | 07-Aug-2013 16:15
I like the cuts except for sol ring.  I'd take out blessing and out SR back in.
    • justintryon | 07-Aug-2013 16:34
Blessing could potentially win me the game on an unblockable creature; SR not so much. Besides, you know how much I like unblockable creatures! Elite Arcanist + Safe Passage = Fun Times!
      • Shawn | 07-Aug-2013 16:42
You sure do LOVE unblockable creatures.  :)
      • Knuttypoo | 08-Aug-2013 01:47
If you're pumping all that mana into Blessing, how on Earth will you have enough to make assembly workers?!
        • justintryon | 08-Aug-2013 14:23
Good question. I'll get back to you when I'm attacking you with GoST enchanted with Blessing...FTW!
  • Shawn | 01-Jul-2013 17:20
Without ways to find the compliment of them, and only one X spell that can take advantage of extra mana (BSZ), I'd replace the Urzatron lands with basics or other color-producing lands.

Aura Graft seems way too narrow.

Why Doomed Traveler?  Both 1/1 bodies don't do much in EDH.

What's the plan with Revered Dead?  Is he there as just a good chump blocker?
    • justintryon | 01-Jul-2013 17:53
Yeah, I'm on the fence about the Urzatron lands myself, but figured if ever there were a deck, it would be a two color or single color Commander deck that would use 'em. If Aura Graft seems narrow, it is as it only really works if I have an aura out but the deck has a dozen of 'em. Being able to move Spirit Mantle from something silly to GoST later in the game could be 'in for the win' if you know what I mean. Doomed Traveler leaves behind something, and if Drogskol Captain is out it's a least a little better. I'll probably find a better creature, something else with Hexproof. Revered Dead is a spirit. See earlier statement, or Angel of Flight Alabaster. Basically just a really good chump blocker in this deck. Thanks man!
      • Knuttypoo | 11-Jul-2013 02:10
I have to agree with Shawn that Doomed Traveler is pretty weak. I'd rather have something like an Ethereal Usher or a Hunted Phantasm in there.

And Urzatron is just going to slow you down. Better to have basic lands in their place.
        • justintryon | 12-Jul-2013 00:55
Not to worry People! I've got some deck additions coming with M14. The Urza-lands will also be out.
