You were right, Q. Naya Battlemage has to go.

She shouldn't be able to single-handedly take on Emrakul. I was wrong in thinking that the extra turn Emrakul gives and the free counterspell in Not Of This World were enough to protect him. It stared me in the face and I didn't see it.

Further cementing her need to go: after deciding that Hammer of Ruin should be included, this meant any creature could potentially receive up to +4/+0. A 5/1 flying Pilgrim's Eye should not be an option.

Self-imposing that the deck have 2 Battlemages (I find it very important for the identity of the deck being the shards cooperating, which battlemages very succinctly illustrate), I've decided on Grixis Battlemage to be the replacement. Bant colors would be ideal for patterning, but we can't afford to give gargantuans flying every turn.

With Grixis Battlemage in, I decided to knock out Etherium Abomination. I wasn't quite happy with it before - it was in an uncomfortable middle ground in strength (power not high enough to be a gargantuan, but too high to be with the rest). I explained it away to my self as it being an "abomination". Also, getting +2 power pushed him into the other realm, which wasn't something I desired. Further, this deck cannot have haste; that is an ability belonging to the Eldrazi deck. Grixis Battlemage's loot ability creates a haste combo. So out goes the abomination.

Replacing it at the moment (should be an artifact for balancing) is Architects of Will. Fun card.

Other candidates: Thoughtcutter Agent, Sanctum Plowbeast, Etherwrought Page, and Font of Mythos. Glassdusk Hulk would be on this list if it didn't have 4 toughness, which is something the Eldrazi deck can't reliably conveniently deal with.

I've also decided to swap the Hammer of Ruin for Explorer's Scope for now. This is a test. I still see Hammer of Ruin as viable.
