I like the idea of using cycling lands in this deck... but from limited playtesting so far, they would probably be better off as mountains.  I'll keep watching to see if I'm ever glad I had that instead of mountain.

this is the version to try building, but I still find the edge of autumn appealing in the other deck.  The non budget version isn't tremendously different.  Using 3 gurmag and 4 flamewake probably makes good sense, as you have already found that 2 gurmags in hand are pointless.  Plus, without fetches, it is that much harder for gurmag to be a great card.
