Notes

---9/18/15-- keeping for posterity ;)  ---
fun, not TOO focused.  New version will tighten up a bit, leaving the variance for seton/ezuri edh
--------------------------------------------------------------

add shrine to nyx.  2?  More?
try changing land to:
2 shrine of nyx
4 land grant
4 forest
1 breeding pool
4 yavimaya coast

Obviously, you REALLY want more breeding pools in place of coasts in this deck...  maybe even change one of those coasts to a forest for now.  Land grant has anti-synergy with primal surge, but I've yet to play that card anyway.  Wouldn't miss it, so let's see if land grant is good.

This primer is awesome, and contains a link to a budget elves thread.  http://www.mtgthesource.com/forums/showthread.php?26248-DTB-Elves!

I so need Emrakul for my Elf deck.   At first I was like "Budget?   You must be dealing something other than direct damage..." but then I saw it was a Legacy deck, and realized that this is just about as budget as you can get in that format.

    Solid deck!

Thanks!  Yeah, I recently realized that some of my "budget" decks are laughably expensive.  But compared to the real tournament decks... those things are ridiculous!  This deck is pretty fun.  I'm actually glad that it's not much closer to a real legacy combo elf deck, because it would be too good.  It's way more fun to end up with a million tokens, drawing half your deck and hoping you don't fizzle before pulling concordant crossroads, than to go tooth and nail into emrakul. The almost singleton nature of the deck keeps it interesting.

I'm excited about trying out nykthos, shrine of nyx as a poor man's gaea's cradle.
I'll defintely check out your elf deck when I get to another computer later on.
