Notes

Boost your troops as you charge into battle! Many of the creatures in this deck have renown, an ability that rewards the creature with one or more permanent +1/+1 counters the first time it deals combat damage to your opponent.

Focus your efforts on getting your renown creatures onto the battlefield so they can start attacking as soon as possible. As the game goes on, use Heavy Infantry or Grasp of the Hieromancer to tap potential blockers and clear the path for your attackers, and finish the game with a timely Mighty Leap or Titanic Growth. Not many decks can deal with a 12/12 Outland Colossus, let alone a 14/14 Outland Colossus with flying!

With most of your creatures on offense, you'll rely on tricks like Vine Snare and Hixus, Prison Warden to protect your life total. The best time to cast Hixus is during your opponent's turn, right after attackers are declared. He can block one creature and then exile others  after they deal damage to you - and you'll be able to attack with him on your next turn.

When your're ready to add new cards to the deck, look for renown creatures with other abilities. Whenever Consul's Lieutenant attacks while it's renowned, it gives all your other attacking creatures +1/+1, and Kytheon's Irregulars can tap any number of potential blockers as long as you have enough white mana to spend. Kytheon, Hero of Akros can lead your attack as a 2/1 creature for only W and later transform into a Planeswalker with battle plans of his own.
