PLAYING THE "POWER" DECK

The Sultai clan from the plane of Tarkir celebrates ruthlessness, showing no mercy to it's opponents in its bid for dominace. With the "Power" deck, you can harness the cruelty of the Sultai as you plunder your graveyard for additional resources with wich to overwhelm your opponent.

The "Power" deck focuses on making the most of the delve mechanic. Cards that go to your graveyard are far from dead, as you can exile them to help cast large creatures and other powerful spells with delve. Don't be fooled by the mana costs of these spells - you'll be able to cast them much sooner than you could with mana alone.

Your goal at the start of the game is to fill your graveyard in order to set up your spells with delve. Using cards like Satyr Wayfinder, Sultai Skullkeeper and Necromancer's Assistant, you'll be able to load up your graveyard with enough cards to cast a threat like Gurmag Angler or Sultai Scavenger before your opponent is ready to deal with it. Meanwhile, your spells that draw cards and remove opposing creatures will help you hold your opponent off and take control of the game.

One of the most important cards in this deck is Sultai Soothsayer. As a 2/5 creature, this Naga Shaman can discourage multiple small creatures from attacking you, allowing you to save your removal spells for your opponent's biggest threats. Of course, the true power of the Soothsayer lies in its enters-the-battlefield ability. With four cards to choose from, it's likely you'll find something you need - and as a bonus, the other three cards go to your graveyard, where they can fuel future spells with delve. Often, you'll be able to choose a spell with delve from among the four cards the Soothsayer shows you and use your newly stocked graveyard to cast it!
