Many have searched for the Great Necropolis. You must travel far over mountains and through swamps, but there is a place that bridge many planes known as the Badlands. Then you pass through many fields of dead, and past that you will find a dark city. It is defended by goblins, orcs, humans, conscriptors and shadow conjurers, it's purpose to provide bodies for the necropolis's needs. It uses madness, mechanical hulks as siege engines, primordials, and death decrees to decimate it's enemies and fuel the coffers. Sauron rules the city, Liliana and Angrath marshall it's force. Within its borders a thriving black market, snake charmers, kobolds, thrull breeding, and dark entertainments.
During the time of Urza, a cave was discovered that lead to the necropolis beneath the city, known as Agadeem and Urborg. At it's heart stands an interplanar tower, the phyrexian tower. In it many learn the powers of death. Cabal priests serve the sacrificial altars, a variety of tools and instruments to aid their machinations. Blood is paid to the eldrazi, who grant power in return. Necromancers practice blood magics, learning how to reanimate, channel death into resources, and even to overcome it. The flow of power, knowledge, and mana, as well as the reach of the sorcerers, is only bounded by the blood that flows. With enough, all is possible, and even a portal to Secundis Sundi can be opened, and with it void walkers. With enough time all will be sucked into the void. The power is not demonic or tied to devil's, but connection to the void itself. Chainer experiments with nightmare, Feldon automates the deceased, Liliana learns a dark healing technique, a monk recovers lost knowledge and practices defensive magics. Upon a golden throne, Sheoldred presides over all at the heart of the tower.
Rograkh is from a long line of Kobolds and is at the dark cities service by force or blood. At anytime it would be needed, he is a free body to be sacrificed, which comes in handy. Outside of this, he can become imbued with dark power, growing large, and his warriors talent makes him a formidable enemy, able to kill players. There are cruel weapons he can be given from the tower to embolden him.
Tevesh comes from the void, and teaches it's dark secrets. His role is to ensure the blood flows. Between death touch, chump blockers, mass sacrifice, and mutiny effects, it is extremely difficult to reach the tower much less keep a board presence, making planes walkers ultimates surprisingly viable. Doom of fools is right, if you aren't playing blue not sure how you beat this deck.
