This is a rough start to this deck. I've always like Ayli, and I saw a list of trying to build around her. Also Lurrus and the companion mechanic is not not banned in edh, so it would be interesting to try to build a deck around it. This is just the first rough cut but early trends indicate soul sisters, eggs, equipment, and big splashy spells. The bread and butter of this deck is using lurrus to loop creatures and enchantments that either protect key permanents or recur, which should make the deck consistent and difficult to disrupt. So far some of my favorite spells to loop with Lurrus in this format is planar cleansing, serenity, and dead man's chest. Hillarious! I know the ideal version of this deck just churns out it's hand and redraws with a few haymaker cards. It seems appealing just equip or enchant up Ayli and swing for the fences, cheese it out for no good reason. Hatred is right on theme for this. On top of being tickled pink about the neat as hell enchantment recursion options (slower speed of edh gives many more interesting options) the potential equipment tutor options gives the deck another really strong angle. Looping quest for the holy relic and stoneforge mystic is actually doable and nuts. I was already inclined to put the angel making life matters card in the deck, but with thornbrite staff and a free sac outlet it goes infinite, which paired with a blood artist effect is a KO. Thornbrite staff also turns Ayli into avatar of woe, which is a sweet mode! And I think tutoring up skullclamp reliably in this deck is going to be a strong base engine. Although this deck's lanes are narrow, it has a surprising amount of versatility and reach within those lanes. I can have nutty openings and sequences, and play a pretty varied game throughout. I would like a few more hatebear options that impact the game stronger, a lot of the ones we have shut down activated abilities, triggers, and graveyards, which blow us out. If we can shave on any of these effects we will have really strong hate options, and we still have a few like thalia, deafening silence, and grand abolisher that might make the cut.

What's left after this first pass is being about 60 cards over and spread in a wide direction. I need to pare down to the frameworks I want to focus on (somewhere around 85 cards at least if not more), and then add mana rocks, smoothing, and support cards.
