Notes
 
The execution is rather beautiful. The eternal wanderer still might make the cut from a flavor standpoint and how excellently it alligns with the primary vision, TBD. And we will see how it plays out, I very much enjoy the idea of the treasure equipment and if it plays out easily and consistently will be awesome. However if more often than not they are dead cards until they no longer matter, or I am generally having mana issues, they will need to be swapped for more traditional acceleration. What I am hoping to achieve is playing creatures and equipment earnestly, then accruing treasure en masse that I keep up for Instants and lands with activated abilities, or other interaction as available. In this way I tap out every turn to progress my board state and seem like a tap out deck, but that unassuming pile of treasure can be anything and will likely be under respected by the table. Just like the bandits attacking the village, hidden strength and assumed superiority their downfall. It allows a lot of hiding in plainsight, the main tactic of the village when they put their treasures in the open. I am considering coveted jewel for this reason, but it's a tad expensive to be practical, and half the time will be a needless liability even in this deck. I think specifically of vorpal blade, whose second abiity is scary but will probably be forgot about, and if I strap it to a wandering ronin means that seven treasure could KO somoene out of nowhere. Upon further reflection, I think the treasure swords are just not going consistently fire, so I've cut these effects for the most part, outside of the Reaver Cleaver because that's a whole ass card. I'm better served replacing these with whole ass cards, as incidentially I want to hit better payoffs, and if they aren't coming online until later anyway might as well get more bang for the buck. Untap land effects work better anyway for the having interaction up piece. Similarly I brought in a couple of swords, and well rested for the gimmick and value. With all the equipment tutors the deck is going to be fairly consistent or least have the option to play that way, so might as well spend my mana only on cards that matter. Like my incidential draw into equipment can just be more golden targets.

Thise notes aside, I love the end product. I set out to create the feel of the Seven Samurai by Akira Kurosawa and I achieved that wonderfully. Featuring a cast of Samurai warriors who are flawed but not without honor, their traits are transformed into redemption. Many cards that on their face seem terrible or lackluster become unified and efficient for a greater cause. They employ the Art of War, attacking everywhere at once, keeping our opponents off kilter with diversionary tactics, and utilizing the resources at hand. They have neither the best offenses or defenses, but they may have enough for the task at hand. Searching is the heart of the movie, and also the deck. When it became clear this was going to be an equipment deck, I decided to reprise my old mardu equipment package but unleashed. It has the added tools that knights could not include, and being 5 color means we get to see a sunforger package unlike any other thus far. The instantrs capture key moments in the movie well while also being complete in a sunforger package, doing everything we would ask of it and then some. One of my favorite is Shields of Velis Vel. It's unassuming nature speaks to the decision of the ronin to defend the village and help the village to defend itself. They can not be redeemed, but by their act they show that they all possess the honor of Samurai which can never be lost if it is in the heart. When I cast this, the whole team get's Karona's overrun effect, and I can grant that to other players. It also makes Godo untap the whole team, and Master-at-Arms able to bestow ontu all. A good signature spell for the deck. Take the Bait is literately perfect for the trapping scene, and perfect in the play style of the deck. Courageous Resolve speaks to many moments in the movie, and sunforging this at Fateful hour is the movie incarnate.
