Fifth Place (4-4)

"Antiquities boasts some of the most popular cards on the tournament scene, including Mishra's Factories, Strip Mines and the Ivory Tower.  Throw in the restricted Feldon's Cane, Candelabra of Tawnos and Mishra's Workshop and you've got the makings of a pretty killer deck.

Antiquities has plenty of potent creatures (Triskelion, Tetravus and Su-Chi) and effective creature elimination (Tawnos' Coffin).  The drawback is they're all expensive to cast or use.  Fortunately, the Antiquities deck is also equipped with a full set of Urza lands.  With them and a Candelabra, you can do quite a bit of damage with a Fireball.

Set MVP: Mishra's Workshop.  The Workshop was *the* card that made things happen for Antiquities.  In a mostly artifact deck, it functioned as a reusable Black Lotus, and the mana boost it gave the deck was tremendous.  4/4 Su-Chis on the first turn, Triskelions and Tetravion the fourth turn... there was little the other decks could do against such speed."
