Won Pro Tour New York Masters Championship 1996-97

"Decks at the tournament were drafted from sealed packs of Fifth Edition and Visions.  Borer said he favoured drafting aggressive speed decks.  'I have not been able to draft a successful defensive deck,' he said.  'Beatdown has worked very well for me.'

The champ also stressed the importance of drafting a two-colour deck.  'My oppponent may have better cards by playing three colours, and sometimes he will get an amazing draw, but he will also get bad mana draws a lot more often, letting me win.'"
