Ninth Place (0-8)

"It was difficult to come up with a good Dark deck because, unlike the other expansions, there was no coherent theme to the playability of the cards.  There weren't enough useful cards in black, blue or white to warrant using those colours, so we went with the remaining two - red and green.  Red gives the deck destructive strength through Fissures, Ball Lightnings and Infernos, while green supplies a good compliment of creatures.  Two Fountains of Youth and just enough black for Dark Heart of the Woods give the deck strong life-gaining capability.

Set MVP: Ball Lightning.  Six damage a pop is impressive, and it did quite a job on many of the other sets.  Unfortunately, three Ball Lightnings can only do 18 points of damage, and that's not enough to win the game."
