4th Place (4-8)

"It's no secret that I'm a roleplayer at heart, which means that the story of a deck is often more important to me than its actual performance.  This puts me at something of a disadvantage in this tourney...but, like the Dark Fate flaw in Vampire, gives me a sense of freedom.  I can use this to play with one of my favourite parts of Magic...poison counters.  Unless you're playing with Leeches - and, trust me, these guys won't be - there's no way to recover from a poison attack.  In 10 hits or less, you're done.

There are two twists to this deck.  The first is in the title: a nightshade is a 'poisonous bloom,' and that's a secret of this deck: using the Cadaverous Bloom to dump excess cards and get lots of black and green mana.  The other is the addition of red.  Final Fortune and Relentless Assault mean more chances to hit, while the Fire Whip is the direct-delivery method that I've been waiting for since Legends."
