Notes

It was time to revisit Curse of Death's Hold and see what I could do there in mono-black. This led me to a few of the usual suspects such as Deathgreeter, Royal Assassin, and Wight of Precinct Six. I threw in a bunch of other things, though none fights terribly well. This is a calculated risk that I can get some key things rolling quickly enough to limit and then hurt my opponent with regard to creatures and combat capability. I could build three or four decks around this basic idea without having too many cards in common, and it may be that versions or entirely different decks will be needed soon. In a couple of cases (Extirpate and Surgical Extraction), cards could work against the main goal of putting things into the graveyard for other benefits (Wight of Precinct Six and Death's Approach, provided I am exiling creatures, but the ability to take something out and make all copies go away is too powerful to ignore. The deck is cheap, coming in at a 1.85 average cost on a 19/12/7/0/2 curve. In this case, Dark Ritual may seem to be out of place, but being able to cast Curse of Death's Hold quickly if I get it early is important. The use of this Bond title should be obvious.
