I was looking at cards I hadn't played against Dave, and I kept getting hooked by Awesome Presence. This seemed a perfect match to red's Goblin War Drums, meaning that the combination could require two creatures and six mana from an opponent intent on blocking the creature in question. Other forms of restricted blocking and unblockability contribute to a more direct (part of the name) path to my opponent. Other things (Raid Bombardment, Niv-Mizzet) also support direct damage. Counterspell and Cyclonic Rift add to the power to disrupt my opponent's plans. The 14/15/8/0/0/2 curve keeps it to a low 2.05 average cost.
