Notes

Deck Name: Jurassic Dominion

Format: Legacy
Deck Type: Mechanic-Based Combo-Midrange
Deck Theme: Dinosaur Enrage Ramp – Marauding Raptor + Ripjaw Raptor Synergy
Colors: Red-Green (Gruul)

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Description

"Jurassic Dominion" is a Legacy combo-midrange deck that embodies nature’s rebellion through ramp, enrage, and unstoppable dinosaurs. By utilizing Marauding Raptor and Ripjaw Raptor as its core engine, the deck turns self-inflicted damage into card draw, mana acceleration, and direct damage. Every creature becomes both predator and prey — a chain reaction of primal energy that overwhelms the battlefield.

The deck thrives in both multiplayer and 1v1 Legacy environments, excelling in matchups against creature-heavy and midrange strategies. With ramp acceleration (Utopia Sprawl, Drover of the Mighty, Otepec Huntmaster) and board dominance from Regisaur Alpha, Ghalta, Primal Hunger, and Etali, Primal Storm, “Jurassic Dominion” floods the board with colossal threats that end games in cinematic fashion.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
How to Play

Early Game:
Use Utopia Sprawl and Drover of the Mighty to accelerate your mana base.
Play Marauding Raptor early to begin triggering Enrage effects.
Follow with Ripjaw Raptor or Ranging Raptors to convert the damage into draw or ramp.
Keep Lightning Bolt or Savage Stomp as early interaction against aggressive decks.

Mid-Game:
Deploy midrange powerhouses like Regisaur Alpha and Wrathful Raptors to dominate combat.
Utilize Forerunner of the Empire and Marauding Raptor together to repeatedly trigger Enrage across your board.
Play Fiery Confluence or Slice and Dice to act as both sweeper and Enrage engine, dealing massive value while punishing opponents’ creatures.
Domri, Anarch of Bolas supports your threats, adding mana and enabling fight-based removal that further fuels your Enrage loops.

Late Game:
Unleash your apex predators — Ghalta, Primal Hunger, Carnage Tyrant, and Etali, Primal Storm — to finish the game with overwhelming force.
Quartzwood Crasher transforms every trample attack into an army of massive Dinosaur Beast tokens.
Use Kessig Wolf Run to give any creature lethal reach and close the match decisively.
At this stage, your board presence becomes insurmountable — every point of damage snowballs into extinction for your opponents.

Ideal Opening Hand:
A strong opening hand should include:
2–3 lands (at least one Forest),
a ramp source (Utopia Sprawl, Drover of the Mighty, or Otepec Huntmaster),
one Enrage enabler (Marauding Raptor or Savage Stomp),
and one payoff creature (Ripjaw Raptor or Regisaur Alpha).

Mulligan if your hand lacks early ramp or a clear path to your engine pieces.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
How the Combo Works

Set Up the Engine:
Establish Marauding Raptor or Forerunner of the Empire to begin triggering Enrage effects.
Deploy creatures like Ripjaw Raptor, Ranging Raptors, and Sun-Crowned Hunters to convert those triggers into card draw, ramp, or direct damage.

Create Controlled Chaos:
Use spells like Savage Stomp, Earthquake, or Fiery Confluence to intentionally deal damage to your own creatures, amplifying Enrage effects.
Each trigger fuels your momentum — you draw cards, gain mana, or burn opponents directly, compounding your advantage each turn.

End the Game:
Once your engine is online, cast your apex threats.
Ghalta and Carnage Tyrant close the game through sheer size and inevitability.
Quartzwood Crasher floods the board with trampling tokens, while Kessig Wolf Run ensures every attack can end the game on the spot.
When the dinosaurs take over, survival becomes impossible for anyone else on the battlefield.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Sideboard Strategy

Against Aggro Decks:
Anger of the Gods and Fiery Confluence clear the board while triggering your own Enrage creatures.
Remove slower top-end cards like Harmonize or extra Etali copies to improve tempo.

Against Control Decks:
Bring in Pyroblast and Veil of Summer to protect your ramp and threats from counterspells.
Add Choke to punish blue-heavy mana bases and force early concessions.

Against Combo Decks:
Use Magus of the Moon to disrupt greedy land strategies and Force of Vigor to handle artifact-based engines.
Relic of Progenitus shuts down graveyard recursion and combo loops.

Against Artifact/Enchantment Strategies:
Force of Vigor and Fiery Confluence offer flexible removal.
Trim some creature removal (Savage Stomp) to make space for direct answers.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

"Jurassic Dominion" rewards strategic sequencing and understanding of Enrage interactions. It’s ideal for players who enjoy timing complex triggers, planning explosive turns, and managing both offense and resource generation simultaneously. The deck plays aggressively but rewards patience and careful setup before unleashing chaos.

Play Like a Pro – 5 Tips for Mastering the Deck

Never waste Enrage triggers — plan your damage to hit multiple creatures for maximum value.

Treat Marauding Raptor as both ramp and removal, but remember it can kill your smaller creatures if sequenced wrong.

Save Kessig Wolf Run activations for turns when trample can convert small advantages into lethal swings.

Use Fiery Confluence and Slice and Dice as “combo enablers,” not just sweepers — timing is everything.

Mulligan aggressively for ramp pieces; without early acceleration, even dinosaurs move too slowly.
