Notes

Deck Name: Goblin

Format: Legacy
Deck Type: Tribal-Aggro
Deck Theme: Mono-Red Goblin Swarm with Burn Finishers
Colors: Red (Mono-Red)

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Description

“Goblin” is a Legacy tribal-aggro deck that channels the raw power of red’s most chaotic creature type: Goblins. Designed for fast deployment, relentless pressure, and surprise finishing plays, this mono-red shell floods the battlefield with aggressive creatures and supplements the assault with direct damage spells, utility planeswalkers, and explosive tribal synergies.

Cards like Goblin Warchief, Goblin King, and Reckless One make even small creatures overwhelming threats, while support tools like Krenko, Mob Boss and Siege-Gang Commander help build a board that can close the game in a single turn. Finisher spells like Burn at the Stake, Goblin War Strike, and Fling convert numbers into damage, creating lethal scenarios out of nowhere.

While it doesn't follow a finely-tuned Legacy tournament archetype, it thrives in casual Legacy playgroups, especially in multiplayer, thanks to its board-wide damage options and strong tempo starts.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
How to Play

Early Game:
Start fast with 1-drops like Goblin Arsonist, Fireslinger, and Grappler.
Apply pressure immediately and develop board presence.
Use burn (e.g. Shock, Twin Bolt) to remove blockers and force early trades.

Mid Game:
Deploy Goblin King and Warchief to increase pressure via mountainwalk or haste.
Start generating tokens with Krenko or flooding the board with value creatures.
Play planeswalkers like Chandra Nalaar or Koth of the Hammer for incremental advantage or mana burst.

Late Game:
Go for the kill with:
Goblin War Strike or Fling for direct damage based on goblin count.
Burn at the Stake for massive burst.
Reckless One with trample for alpha strikes.
Skirk Fire Marshal to nuke the board and end the game.
Use Reverberate to double spells for unexpected reach.

Ideal Opening Hand:
2 Mountains
1 early goblin (Arsonist, Fireslinger, or Wardriver)
1 lord (Warchief or King)
1 burn spell (Shock, Volcanic Hammer)
1 threat or finisher (Krenko, Reckless One, War Strike)

Mulligan if you lack early threats or lands.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
How the Tribal Deck Works

The core strategy of “Goblin” is to overwhelm with speed and synergy:
Swarm Early: Cheap goblins flood the field before defenses are set up.
Buff & Burn: Lords empower the army, while spells clear blockers or go face.
Surprise Finishers: Direct damage based on goblin count closes games unexpectedly.
Planeswalker Utility: Midgame control via Chandra, Tibalt, and Koth adds flexibility.

Goblins don’t play fair – they play fast, they play wide, and they explode if left unchecked.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Skill Level and Playability

“Goblin” is perfect for players who enjoy fast-paced, aggressive gameplay with tribal identity and occasional combo-like finishes. The deck is easy to pilot but rewards tight sequencing and good combat math.

Difficulty Level: Beginner to Intermediate
Playstyle: Aggressive, synergy-driven combat with burn payoff
Best For: Casual 1v1 and multiplayer Legacy environments

Play Like a Pro – 5 Tips for Mastering the Deck

Krenko is your win condition.
If he survives one turn, the game often ends. Save him for the right moment.

Go wide, not tall.
Don’t rely on one big creature. Many small ones are better for War Strike and Marshal.

Count your damage.
Use Fling, War Strike, and Burn at the Stake when the math is exact.

Don’t overextend into sweepers.
Play smart against control. Force out removal before committing Krenko or Warchief.

Think two turns ahead.
Burn spells can be removal or lethal – know when to hold and when to fire.
