Deck Name: Timberlords

Format: Legacy
Deck Type: Tribal Midrange
Deck Theme: Treefolk Resilience and Board Domination
Colors: Green-White-Black (Abzan)

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Description

Timberlords is a resilient Legacy-legal Treefolk tribal midrange deck that grows stronger with each turn. Focused on synergy, protection, and massive battlefield presence, the deck builds an unstoppable forest army led by Timber Protector, Leaf-Crowned Elder, and Dauntless Dourbark.

Combining indestructibility, creature-based tutoring, and value recursion, Timberlords thrives in high-power casual and multiplayer environments. From explosive mana via Castle Garenbrig and Myriad Landscape, to kinship-fueled card advantage and on-board combat tricks, this deck punishes opponents who rely solely on removal or speed.

Resilient to sweepers and built for grinding, Timberlords stands as a slow but inevitable wall of nature, where every turn brings another unshakable giant to the forest floor.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
How to Play

Early Game:
Use Treefolk Harbinger to tutor powerful cards like Leaf-Crowned Elder, Dourbark, or Timber Protector.
Set up mana ramp with Bosk Banneret and lands like Castle Garenbrig or Yavimaya, Cradle of Growth.
Play Lignify or Rootgrapple to answer early threats while developing your board.

Mid-Game:
Drop Leaf-Crowned Elder to generate free Treefolk drops via kinship.
Cast Chord of Calling for toolbox tutoring at instant speed.
Deploy Timber Protector to make your army indestructible and laugh in the face of board wipes.

Late Game:
Use Dauntless Dourbark as a massive trampling threat, boosted by your forest count.
Turn your overwhelming board state into inevitability with Unstoppable Ash or Verdeloth the Ancient (plus Saprolings!).
Finish with a wall of damage that even control decks can't dismantle.

Ideal Opening Hand:
3 lands (at least one Forest)
1 Treefolk Harbinger or Bosk Banneret
1 removal spell (Lignify / Rootgrapple)
1 payoff threat (Elder, Dourbark)

Mulligan hands with no interaction or 5+ lands.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
How the Tribal Midrange Works

Timberlords blends the classic strengths of midrange value decks with a tribal identity that rewards patience and timing. You grind out value through synergy, not speed.

Leaf-Crowned Elder provides free creatures every turn, accelerating your board without emptying your hand.

Timber Protector guarantees that your board survives most sweepers and combat phases.

Dourbark scales with your lands and other Treefolk, making it the true “beatstick” of the deck.

Unstoppable Ash turns any Treefolk into a lethal trample machine.

Chord of Calling ensures you can always find the exact tool you need when it matters.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Sideboard Strategy

Against Aggro Decks:
Heroic Intervention and Wrap in Vigor protect your creatures from wraths and combat tricks.
Beast Within removes problematic fast threats.
Spidersilk Armor (in main or side) handles flying-based aggro.

Against Control Decks:
Veil of Summer and Gaea’s Herald keep your creatures from being countered.
Pithing Needle can name planeswalkers or annoying utility lands.

Against Combo Decks:
Relic of Progenitus shuts down graveyard loops and recursion.
Beast Within disrupts enchantments, artifacts, or combo pieces mid-chain.

Against Enchantment/Artifact Lock Pieces:
Krosan Grip deals with Rest in Peace, Humility, or Ensnaring Bridge cleanly.
Naturalize handles smaller but still dangerous support pieces.

Bonus Tech:
Sandwurm Convergence completely blanks flyers in grindy games and produces a threat per turn.
Boseiju Reaches Skyward helps with grind, fixing, and turns into a threat.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Skill Level and Playability

Timberlords is perfect for players who enjoy value-based tribal decks with inevitability, layered synergy, and toolbox solutions. While not the fastest deck, it rewards smart sequencing and long-term planning.

Difficulty Level: Intermediate
Playstyle: Midrange Value with Resilient Tribal Synergy
Best For: Multiplayer and high-power casual Legacy environments

Play Like a Pro – 5 Tips for Mastering the Deck

Tutor smartly.
Use Harbinger to find what the board needs — not just your favorite threat.

Don’t overextend.
Keep 1–2 Treefolk in hand post-boardwipe bait. Protect your finishers.

Use Chord defensively.
Surprise-tutor a Timber Protector in response to removal or wrath.

Lead with protection.
Against control, always bait counters before you drop your Elder or Dourbark.

Close when you can.
When the board is locked, Unstoppable Ash or Verdeloth tokens can close games faster than you think.
