Notes

Deck Name: Wings of Fire

Format: Legacy
Deck Type: Tribal-Midrange
Deck Theme: Dragon Aggro-Control – Haste and Burn Pressure
Colors: Red-Green (Gruul)

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Description

“Wings of Fire” is a Legacy tribal-midrange deck built around the raw power and speed of Dragons. Using early ramp with Arbor Elf and Utopia Sprawl, it accelerates into explosive threats like Thunderbreak Regent, Glorybringer, and Stormbreath Dragon. With Dragon Tempest and burn spells providing extra reach, the deck overwhelms opponents with constant pressure and flying dominance.

Unlike combo-oriented Dragon builds, this deck thrives on consistent board presence and tempo swings. It punishes opponents with removal, locks greedy manabases with Blood Moon, and closes games quickly through haste-fueled attacks.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
How to Play

Early Game:
Deploy Arbor Elf, Utopia Sprawl, or Birds of Paradise for fast ramp.
Use Lightning Bolt and Draconic Roar to remove early threats.
Establish Dragonlord’s Servant if in hand to curve into dragons faster.

Mid-Game:
Drop haste dragons (Glorybringer, Thundermaw Hellkite) to dominate the skies.
Use Stormbreath Dragon to pressure control and dodge white removal.
Blood Moon can cripple opposing mana bases, giving you breathing room.

Late Game:
Leverage Atarka, World Render with Xenagos, God of Revels for a lethal one-shot kill.
Sarkhan, Fireblood’s ultimate floods the board with dragon tokens to seal multiplayer games.
Chandra, Torch of Defiance provides card advantage and a potential emblem win condition.

Ideal Opening Hand:
1–2 lands (with green for ramp)
one ramp piece (Elf or Sprawl)
one removal spell
and a midrange dragon.

Mulligan hands without early ramp or removal.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
How the Tribal Strategy Works

Ramp: Arbor Elf + Utopia Sprawl provide explosive mana acceleration.

Pressure: Drop haste dragons that immediately swing the game state in your favor.

Synergy: Dragon Tempest and Thunderbreak Regent punish opponents for interacting and multiply damage output.

Finishers: Atarka + Xenagos or Sarkhan ultimate create overwhelming board states that few decks can answer.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Sideboard Strategy

Against Aggro:
Bring in Anger of the Gods to clear the board.
Balefire Dragon as an unstoppable sweeper.

Against Control:
Veil of Summer to protect against counters and removal.
Trinisphere to slow down spell-heavy decks.

Against Combo:
Surgical Extraction to disrupt graveyard or key combo pieces.
Trinisphere locks fast combo engines.

Against Artifacts/Enchantments:
Ancient Grudge and Destructive Revelry for efficient answers.
Relic of Progenitus handles graveyard engines.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Skill Level and Playability

“Wings of Fire” is ideal for players who enjoy aggressive but resilient strategies. It rewards smart sequencing of ramp into threats and timing of disruption. Multiplayer games showcase its ability to keep pressure on multiple opponents simultaneously.

Difficulty Level: Intermediate
Playstyle: Aggressive midrange with control elements
Best For: High-power casual Legacy multiplayer and 1v1 Legacy matches

Play Like a Pro – 5 Tips for Mastering the Deck

Ramp smartly — don’t overextend mana dorks if you expect sweepers.

Sequence dragons for maximum pressure — Thunderbreak punishes interaction, Glorybringer clears blockers.

Drop Blood Moon early if it cripples your opponent; otherwise, save it to lock the midgame.

Protect key turns with Veil of Summer when going for a finisher.

Know your finishers — Atarka + Xenagos ends games in one swing, Sarkhan ultimate floods the board, Chandra emblem burns out control players.
