Deck Name: 50 and Divine (Getting Life Green & White v2)

Format: Legacy
Deck Type: Mechanic-Based
Deck Theme: Lifegain Engine with Alternate Win Conditions
Colors: Green-White (Selesnya)

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Description

“50 and Divine” is a Legacy Selesnya deck that turns lifegain into a win condition. Rather than focusing on traditional combat damage, it builds an unstoppable engine of creatures, enchantments, and tokens, all centered around climbing to divine life thresholds like 40 or 50. Cards like Felidar Sovereign, Test of Endurance, and Angel of Destiny offer victory without ever attacking.

The core engine uses Soul Warden, Ajani’s Welcome, Heliod, Sun-Crowned, and Rhox Faithmender to gain life repeatedly and passively. That life gain fuels triggers across your board — from Resplendent Angel and Speaker of the Heavens to Cathars’ Crusade and Griffin Aerie. The deck snowballs with every creature that enters, whether hard-cast or token.

With doublers like Mondrak, Glory Dominus and Parallel Lives, even one trigger becomes a cascade. When Divine Visitation is active, even 1/1 tokens become a fleet of 4/4 flying Angels. “50 and Divine” wins not by pressure, but by inevitability — and often with a battlefield full of divinity.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
How to Play

Early Game:
Play Soul Warden, Essence Warden, or Ajani’s Welcome to begin gaining life passively
Develop Ajani’s Pridemate, Voice of the Blessed, or Speaker of the Heavens
Set up life-based token engines like Griffin Aerie and Resplendent Angel

Mid Game:
Deploy Linden, Rhox Faithmender, and Heliod to enhance lifegain scaling
Cast Divine Visitation, Cathars’ Crusade, or Sigil of the Empty Throne to start building pressure
Drop Parallel Lives or Mondrak to turn small triggers into explosive value

Late Game:
Win outright with Test of Endurance, Felidar Sovereign, or Angel of Destiny
Use Ajani, Strength of the Pride for an emblem win or lifelink-based finisher
Flood the board with 4/4 flying Angels and close the game in one strike

Ideal Opening Hand:
2 lands (one white, one green)
1 lifegain trigger (Soul Warden, Ajani’s Welcome)
1 payoff creature (Voice of the Blessed, Pridemate)
1 token synergy or win condition (Griffin Aerie, Felidar Sovereign)

Avoid hands with only high-CMC cards or no synergy pieces

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
How the Mechanic-Based Strategy Works

This deck revolves around passive advantage — every creature or token entering the battlefield generates multiple effects: life gain, counters, triggers, and eventually tokens. Every small piece is part of a machine.

Once you have multiple lifegain sources and a payoff in play, the engine becomes self-sustaining:

Gain life → trigger angels or counters
New creature → trigger life gain again
More life → more power and more triggers

Eventually, win conditions like Felidar Sovereign and Test of Endurance come online, or you simply overwhelm with token armies — often buffed by Cathars’ Crusade.

Unlike aggro or combo decks, this engine scales turn by turn, and does not rely on a single explosive combo.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Sideboard Strategy

Against Burn / Red Aggro:
In: 2 Auriok Champion, 2 Authority of the Consuls, 2 Veil of Summer
Out: Serra Avatar, Scurry Oak, Kami of Whispered Hopes, Resplendent Angel, 2 enchantment payoffs

Against Control / Combo Decks:
In: 2 Veil of Summer, 1 Gaddock Teeg, 1 Archon of Emeria
Out: Test of Endurance, Serra Avatar, Path of Bravery, Scurry Oak

Against Graveyard Decks:
In: 2 Rest in Peace, 1 Scavenging Ooze
Out: Trelasarra, Angel of Destiny, Rhox Faithmender

Against Artifacts / Enchantments:
In: Seal of Primordium, Force of Vigor
Out: Behemoth Sledge, Luminarch Ascension

Against Creature Swarm:
In: 2 Settle the Wreckage
Out: Serra Avatar, Resplendent Angel

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Skill Level and Playability

“50 and Divine” is designed for players who enjoy passive engines that spiral out of control. While the sequencing can be simple early, the board complexity escalates fast — and knowing when to hold or commit is key.

Difficulty Level: Intermediate
Playstyle: Lifegain engine, wide-board token build-up, and alternate win conditions
Best For: Multiplayer pods and high-power casual Legacy metas with long grindy games

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Competitive Profile and Ratings

Power: ⭐⭐⭐⭐☆ (4/5)
Capable of generating overwhelming board states and multiple win conditions if left unchecked.

Speed: ⭐⭐⭐☆☆ (3/5)
Wins around turns 5–7 depending on setup, but can snowball fast if lifegain engines go online early.

Resilience: ⭐⭐⭐⭐☆ (4/5)
Survives wipes and interaction with protection tools, wide board recovery, and multiple engines.

Complexity: ⭐⭐⭐☆☆ (3/5)
Medium sequencing complexity, but easy to pilot once synergies are understood.

Mechanic-Based vs Combo Ratio:
This deck is 100% Mechanic-Based and excels through passive engine building and alternate win conditions.
Compared to combo decks, it is slower but far more resilient and consistent.

Best For:
Casual competitive Legacy pods where grindy board states and snowball synergies reward planning over speed. Also excels in multiplayer where life totals matter more than tempo.

Play Like a Pro – 5 Tips for Mastering the Deck

Sequence your triggers carefully. When multiple lifegain effects resolve at once, timing matters — especially with Heliod or Archangel of Thune.

Don’t expose your win conditions too early. Wait until your life total is near the threshold or you can protect them.

Keep protection in mind. Heroic Intervention and Shalai can save your whole board from ruin.

Value low-cost cards over flashy plays. A turn-1 Ajani’s Welcome often does more work than a turn-5 bomb.

Recognize inevitability. Sometimes you don’t need to win quickly — you just need to survive until they run out of ways to stop you.
