Deck Name: Bloodmoon Hunt

Format: Legacy
Deck Type: Tribal Aggro-Midrange
Deck Theme: Tribal Werewolf Aggro with Day/Night Synergy
Colors: Red-Green (Gruul)

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Description

Bloodmoon Hunt is a Legacy tribal aggro-midrange deck themed around the ferocity and transformation of Werewolves under the light of the blood moon. As a Tribal Werewolf Aggro with Day/Night Synergy, the deck leverages powerful creature-based tempo, anthem effects, and tribal lords to dominate combat and scale into unstoppable board states.

At its core, the deck uses Tovolar, Dire Overlord as a draw engine and threat multiplier, paired with cards like Howlpack Resurgence, Nightpack Ambusher, and Immerwolf to establish tribal synergy and combat dominance. It performs equally well in 1v1 and multiplayer Legacy games, with a robust manabase and well-rounded sideboard.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
How to Play

Early Game:
Deploy fast, aggressive werewolves: Reckless Waif, Ascendant Packleader, Kessig Prowler.
Begin ramping with Kessig Naturalist and Weaver of Blossoms.
Use Moonmist or Unnatural Moonrise to flip into night and activate synergy early.

Mid-Game:
Stack tribal buffs with Mayor of Avabruck, Immerwolf, and Instigator Gang.
Protect your tempo using removal like Wolf Strike, Abrade, and Moonlight Hunt.
Draw cards with Tovolar and pressure with tokens from Arlinn Kord or Nightpack Ambusher.

Late Game:
Close out the game with Kessig Wolf Run, Ulrich, or Volatile Arsonist.
In multiplayer, overwhelm wide boards with anthem-fueled tokens and combat synergy.
Use sideboard tools to reinforce against specific threats and protect your advantage.

Ideal Opening Hand:
2 lands (one of each color preferred)
1–2 low-cost werewolves
1 spell (removal or support like Moonmist or Rhythm of the Wild)
Optional: Tovolar or Arlinn for scaling

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
How the Tribal Synergy Works

As a tribal deck, nearly every creature is a Werewolf or supports werewolf mechanics. Tovolar draws you cards with each attacking wolf, while Immerwolf and Mayor of Avabruck maintain transformation states and buff the team.

Howlpack Resurgence and Rhythm of the Wild serve as tribal anthems, empowering your army and granting key combat advantages. The inclusion of token generators and nightbound synergy gives the deck scaling potential in longer games and multiplayer situations.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Sideboard Strategy

Against Board Wipes / Removal:
Wrap in Vigor, Heroic Intervention, and Asceticism keep your board alive.

Against Control / Flyers / Tempo Decks:
Prowling Serpopard makes your creatures uncounterable.
Kessig Cagebreakers and Domri give late-game reach and interaction.
Anger of the Gods clears small threats when needed.

Against Artifacts/Enchantments:
Cindervines punishes non-creature spells and can destroy key permanents.
Reclamation Sage and Return to Nature offer efficient sideboard answers.

Against Graveyard / Token Strategies:
Grafdigger’s Cage blocks recursion and library manipulation.
Anger of the Gods again serves as a reset button.

Utility & Finishers:
Shared Animosity offers explosive tribal finish potential.
Domri, Anarch of Bolas adds mana, removal, and combat edge.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Play Like a Pro – 5 Tips for Mastering the Deck

Sequence your flips. Don’t rush into night unless it benefits your board more than your opponent’s.

Respect your anthem timing. Play Howlpack Resurgence or Rhythm before attacking for max value.

Tovolar = fuel. Draw often and refill even when not ahead.

Use Moonmist both ways. It’s a fog and a finisher — perfect to swing tempo.

Board protection wins grind games. Keep a Wrap in Vigor or Heroic Intervention in hand when ahead.
