Deck Name: Blue Screen of Brain
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Format: Casual
Deck Type: Combo
Colors: Blue (Mono-Blue)
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Description

Blue Screen of Brain is a mono-blue combo deck that aims to overload the game with a flood of spells, culminating in a devastating Brain Freeze that mills the opponent’s entire library. Fueled by High Tide, the deck uses low-cost spells and recursive mana engines to create an explosive storm turn as early as Turn 3.

The core idea is to build up enough spells in a single turn—through card draw, untap effects, and mana doubling—to reach a storm count of 15+, making Brain Freeze a one-shot win condition. With support from cantrips, tutors, and mana-efficient combos like Snap and Cloud of Faeries, this deck rewards clever sequencing and careful resource management.

Though fragile against disruption, Blue Screen of Brain offers a fast and satisfying victory when piloted with precision. It's ideal for casual 1v1 play and delivers a unique puzzle-like experience each time.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
How to Play

Early Game:
Use Ponder, Preordain, Brainstorm, and Impulse to set up your hand and dig for combo pieces.
Play Merchant Scroll and Mystical Tutor to fetch key spells like High Tide or Brain Freeze.
Make sure you have at least 3–4 Islands on the battlefield before attempting your combo turn.

Mid-Game:
Cast High Tide to double your mana output from Islands.
Use Cloud of Faeries and Snap to untap lands and create a positive mana loop.
Leverage Turnabout and Frantic Search for massive untap-and-draw effects.
Maintain card advantage with cantrips and recursion tools like Mystic Retrieval.

Late Game / Combo Turn:
Chain spells to reach a storm count of 15 or more.
Cast Brain Freeze, targeting your opponent multiple times for 45+ cards milled.
Close the game in one turn with minimal permanents ever touching the board.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
How the Combo Works

Mana Engine:
High Tide makes each Island tap for an additional {U}.
Snap and Cloud of Faeries generate mana-positive loops when combined.
Turnabout untaps all your lands, refueling your mana pool.

Draw Engine:
Brainstorm, Ponder, Preordain, and Impulse offer early and consistent filtering.
Frantic Search and Ideas Unbound provide burst draw during the combo.
Mystical Tutor and Merchant Scroll offer redundancy and consistency.

Win Condition:
Brain Freeze mills the opponent for 3 cards per storm copy.
With 15+ spells cast in one turn, you can mill out a 60-card library instantly.
Mystic Retrieval, Mnemonic Wall, and Mission Briefing allow recursion if needed.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Sideboard Strategy

Against Control Decks:
+2 Flusterstorm, +2 Defense Grid, +1 Dispel, +1 Pact of Negation
Prevent interruption on the combo turn and resolve High Tide safely.

Against Graveyard Hate / Disruption:
+2 Echoing Truth, +1 Wipe Away
Bounce problematic permanents like Leyline of the Void or Rule of Law.

For Grindier Matches:
+1 Mnemonic Wall, +1 Mystic Retrieval, +1 Mission Briefing
Add recursion to help rebuild after failed combo turns or attrition wars.

Alternative Win Conditions:
+1 Jace’s Erasure, +1 Laboratory Maniac
Provide backup plans if Brain Freeze is unavailable or ineffective.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Skill Level and Playability

Blue Screen of Brain is best suited for players who enjoy intricate combo lines, efficient resource management, and fast, brain-intensive turns. Precision in sequencing and awareness of your mana and storm count are critical for victory.

Difficulty Level: Intermediate to Advanced
Playstyle: Explosive combo with little interaction
Best For: Casual 1v1 play, puzzle solvers, and storm combo enthusiasts
