Notes

This is pretty close to the version I'm playing online. currently. The mana is a big upgrade, that's a clean swap for glacial fortress (literately hate the T1 plays where my hand is hampered by a tapped fortress as my only land. There's a lot of games I would have been able to pull much farther ahead on the back of those early plays). Spectral Blade seems a fairly clean trade for an aura in my post board games against attrition heavy decks. It pressures early similar to other enchantments, and I can use it to bate removal before committing better auras. It allows me to recover key aura's more quickly than if I had took the time to play lurrus for those games where bringing an ethereal armor or all that glitters immediately would pay dividends. It's not so strong outside of these play patterns that I would want to main deck it though. The only other maindeck consideration I have is codespell cleric. Any deck playing ornithopter should consider it, as creating a 2/2 vigilant creature on turn 1 is strong, and it can move that counter around besides. It's easy to make this my double spell throughout the first 4 turns, and I wanted to get vigilance in the deck anyway. It also pairs well with springleaf drum for all these reasons, and the vigilance body means we get a little more chip damage while "leaving up a mana" from a drum. There have definitely been lines where I need to go fast and my opponent has no blockers that I swing with team over casting something else or leaving up a mana for Alseid of Life's Bounty. In those instances, not only would the cleric contribute an additional counter for this effort, but it would chip a damage and be available for the drum as an onboard trick at least, or further spells from hand. I think this smooths my early curve a tad more that are drum based, allowing me to deploy the more cards overall in the key turns. I really have to think how I would work it in though. I'm going to mock up a list just to try it out. The Ornithopter/Drum/spire Package may have just expanded to include this card. It's also another great card with Lurrus, as I can go Lurrus into cleric to create a 4/3 Lurrus, and then recur it for additional counters. It also is another card that let's me bait removal for very low investment.
