Main Deck - 116 cards, 62 distinct
Sideboard - 179 cards, 139 distinct
Notes
I remember when I figured out sylvan awakening was busted with Jeskai Ascendancy and Loam I was pretty excited. The combo is very strong. However, with new toys that are available now, I think we can go even farther! We can completely non graveyard dependent, albeit a tad more artifact dependent. And we get Teferi, Time Raveler, hero of combo decks everywhere. I think we should be able to just completely mitigate variance with arcum's astrolabe and other eggs, and our card advantage is so much better.
Where does this fall as a goldfish deck though? The noncreature is more resilient to removal and a better engine, but it is not possible to T2 someone. The goal for this version then is T3 80% of the time or better, otherwise, a version with creatures is appropriate. Engine wise, I believe fatestitcher to largely emulate spellbomb pace wise. Without a discard outlet, fatestitcher can't enable a T2 kill, so they both need to be used after a ascendancy resolves. Spellbomb is more flexible in timing and more useful as a noncreature cantrip. To T3 80% of the time I need to go one of the two lines of:
A.) T1 Utopia, T2 Ascendancy, T3 Sylvan Awakening plus 1 mana cantrip (3 land drops).
B.) T1 Spellbomb, T2 Ramp, T3 Ascendancy activate Spellbomb free spell (3-4 land drops).
Compared to:
A.) T1 mana dork, T2 Ascendancy +free spell
B.) T1 mana dork, T2 Wish, T3 Ascendancy +cantrip
Dryad arbor changes the math a little bit, but the mana dork version seems correct, especially with the light interaction in the format. So my question is lightning bolt, fatal push, lava dart, chalice of the void, Thalia, Eidolon? Do we combo harder than the other combo decks? Compared to twiddle storm?
