I got a bug to try mono-red battalion. This necessarily forced me to look at other things, and once more battle cry was a natural fit. I found that the Warmind Infantry were a poor fit because their cost was higher, and I didn't want to worry about conflicts with Raid Bombardment. In this, a handful of small creatures can attack to devastating effect, particularly if they have Raid Bombardment and Quest for the Pure Flame backing them. Indeed, two copies of either could turn an attack by five creatures into lethal damage. There is relatively little direct damage here, but it has a touch of life gaining in case things drag out. The 16/18/6 curve is compact and low, averaging only 1.75. The 15 non-creature spells come out at a 1.87 average, but even that is low enough to keep things moving.
