Populate, combined with Proliferate and Thallids, seemed like a good idea. Being able to locate a creature I need, including one that makes every creature enter the battlefield as a copy of it, seems quite nice too. A last minute set of adjustments reduced the creatures form 25 to 23 and increased the average cost from 2.40 to 2.48, but the 14/12/3/5/4/2 curve is still strongly weighted to the low end, and mana acceleration should make things pretty powerful. The late addition of a couple Garruk’s Packleaders could make spawning token creatures that enter as copies of Essence of the Wild a great chance to draw a lot of cards.
