Notes

This is a pretty straight Merfolk deck. There are 8 cards giving other Merfolk +1/+1, but the Counterspells and Power Sinks should be fun, especially now that speed mana is expendable. What can’t be prevented can be controlled (Phantasmal Terrain + Seasinger) can be killed (War Barge + Merfolk Assassin). I may need to work out tweaks for more draws, with Ocular Halo being a reasonable option, even with its converted mana cost of 5. The 10/19/8/3 curve (with only the War Barges occupying the 4-spot), came to an average of only 2.10. After going 9-0, it was ready to retire, but Dave insisted on the "grudge match" against his elves (not that they had faced one another before), but Fun Forest had gone 5-1, and he wanted a shot at the champs. The result was a long game that nearly went Dave's way, but ultimately turned on stolen creatures and countermagic.
