Notes

I wanted to go for a mono-black vampire deck that I could call a 5-star option (because the only two that were all that went a combined 13-2), and that meant going big. Really big. In more ways that one. I actually have eight rares and a mythic in here, but given the particular nature of what I am attempting, that actually doesn't seem too crazy. But the costs are far higher at the top of the curve than I usually go for. A lot of the usual suspects are here, but many are notable in their absence. I had to make cuts to give me the big guns, but I wanted also to have some removal. I had hoped to include at least three copies of Thran Lens as well, but at this point I would have to cut the space all out of non-creature spells. Despite having eight cards above the 3-spot, a quarter of those at the 7-spot, the 17/11/3/5/1/0/2 curve only averages 2.23 across its 39 spells.
