Notes

This deck takes a similar starting proposition to In-N-Out and shares some design DNA with Blood And Light, but it is far more focused on the movement of life. I eschew here most of the secondary benefits of life gaining, such as Ajani's Pridemates (though I kept Wall of Limbs), preferring to make this almost exclusively about the life. Because there are so many ways that my opponent can lose life, I felt this was a good time to include Bloodchief Ascension and Mindcrank. A late shift from one copy of Blood Reckoning to allow for a copy of Demonic Tutor allows for a much greater chance of pulling the game-ending combo. The deck is very cheap, averaging 1.73 on a 20/13/5/2 curve that is a little heavier with black mana than white. Because it is so heavy at the low end, I forewent the guildgates and elected for a slight tilt toward swamps after giving a slot to Isolated Chapel; however, the deck is perfectly balanced on color until copies of Deathrite Shaman are factored in.
