Notes

This has a lot in common with Burned By The Fire We Make, but it is far less combat-oriented than its 3-0 predecessor, focusing almost entirely on direct damage and pumping. I am taking a few cues from Dave’s tournament 3 deck, Mercury Rising, seeing if I can get a few more things rolling than he had. I focus less on the mana and more on the curve, getting a 1.83 average on 14/19/7. A key difference between this deck and Dave’s is my focus on the creature element to power some of the pumping of Chandra’s Spitfires. While Kiln Fiends can be useful, their earthbound limitations are a problem. Double Cleave is the secret weapon when attacking with a Spitfire, or indeed anything else that goes unblocked and has a decent power.
