This is the third in my defender series, with the focus necessarily being on mana. The idea is that I will live long enough to use Drain Life effectively, which is admittedly a rather poor strategy. Still, Initiates of the Ebon Hand can translate green mana into black, and 6 more creatures provide mana based on the number of creatures I control with defender, (2 providing green mana specifically). This would probably be a candidate for ally support, and I may look at that in the future, though I only have the one copy of the ally that gives mana. The 13/11/16/2 curve is not bad, coming out to an average of 2.23, though 6 of those cards have X in the cost.
