Every spell in this deck—creatures and otherwise—can gain me life. While I have gotten close to this before, I have never insisted on 100% out-of-the-box life-gaining capability. There are non-creature means of causing damage, too (Suture Priest, Chalice of Death), but the real problem comes in defending Ajani Goldmane, if needed. It is his third ability that I really want to trigger, and that means getting him to his third turn undamaged. The 21/11/7/1 curve may be too low, averaging 1.70. I may need to version this to include more spells, fewer land.
