I have all kinds of Lifelink and First Strike in here—only 6 cards have neither, and four of those boost creatures while one more provides protection and the last returns any other card to the battlefield—so I expect the defender will not be pleased by options. This is a speed deck with no way to draw extra cards, which is probably going to be an issue. Nonetheless, the 1.75 average cost on a 20/13/6/0/0/1 mana curve is too much not to try. While there are lots of ways to gain life in this deck, it is not, at its heart, a life-gaining deck. Instead, the life gaining is survival and powers the Adjani’s Pridemates. I may need to look into some form of trampling or unblockability, as a good front of blockers could hold me at bay.
